This...
We learn how to get Bitcoin in a better position or give up sound money.
Everyone thinking it is even remotely possible to get a next shot at something like Bitcoin is pretty delusional.
I will even go along with those mentioning gold/silver but than we also have to go back to a society equal to when gold/silver was actually used as money.
How many are still left ?

Banks know..
The only incentive they need to keep fiat scam alive is for the people to keep using fiat !
Since there is no way known to mankind to be more profitable for a few on the backs of everyone else than the fiat system, those who profit from it will never change the system by free will.

Banking system ?
You mean that there still is something out there besides Bitcoin that is somewhat functional and trustworthy?
Haven't checked for years, don't need nor want to 😇

Humans are fascinating to watch.
Besides the plenty being lazy and stupid, I was surprised most by how many don't want to be responsible to for what they do up to the point they just try to avoid doing much at all.....
Combined with the idea they know how to do most things better, judge on others mistakes and of course those who just bluntly blame their mistakes on others or deny they where responsible or even involved 🤣
It made me appreciate those who do take responsibility even more !

Perhaps for the same reasons fiat exists....
To enrich a few is on top of my list.
Control right after that.
Etc

The problem is NOT that the information is not available.
The problem is people being able to recognize real information and separate it from the propaganda and willing to accept how bad the real information and actual situation is.....

As long as all shitcoins just aim for the nice things Bitcoin doesn't have yet, and forget to get the money thing right, they have just a short lifetime and endless competition waiting 🤷‍♂️

Actually funny how that works..
Nobody had to announce or validate Gold as legal tender...
That whole episode started when fiat was introduced.
Just another way to force people to use fiat.
Now "sheepy" humans have become so used to the abuse they think money needs some governmental approval....
No it doesn't.
And that is one of the many things turned upside down in current society !
Seeing all that crap doesn't make things easier, but without realizing it nothing will change for sure.

Can't say he is wrong.
But putting a time frame on any future event makes the chance of you being wrong exponentially bigger.
I too am convinced the $, and all other fiat, will lose most of the little value it has remaining.
But trying to predict how fast or what the consequences will be is a fools game.
Gold, Bitcoin are probably good protection.
But skills, good land, portable water, a supporting community, etc will be even more important.
And since it will probably also mean war, location could be de most important factor.
The best I can think of is that I will outlive that scenario and I definitely hope I will live a lot longer than another 6 years 😇

Congress....
Aren't those the criminals that are allowed to act on their knowledge and as such make a homerun on every new legislation that they make ?
Let's stop pretending and call them criminals !

In this case I'm talkng about the "Op Return" development where the data limit was extended.
But there is more going on.

The blocks I've war was rather easy to understand and the players involved where pretty straight forward with their arguments.
It still wasn't easy to make up your mind but once I did and understood decentralization was at the root the whole thing became perfect clear.
With current core developments there is not such a clear well defined problem/risk.
Well I think it is but it is way more complex to explain.
It is not that I'm against new ways to use Bitcoin.
But more where and how these possible new things have to be developed.
Possible risks are mostly long term and more in the legal department.
Most people seem to not care about long term and don't understand legal stuff (world wide) very well.
Next we will be talking fast about technical implementation stuff, another thing not well understood by many.
And so on.
I still haven't heard from any core developer why new developments need to be done on the Bitcoin protocol and not like Lightning on a separate layer.
Want to enable more data than financial data ? fine, do it on an other layer.
Bitcoin is money first and foremost.
Yes it can be way more but that should not have to be implemented on core.
Simply because any change can be a risk.
And we won't get a second chance on freedom money in our lifetime.

The scary part is this goes for every rule and law out there.
For the critical mind that is just the start.
"The right to pursue happiness" becomes a strange thing when we think of a pedophile isn't it 🤔
And that is why a critical mind and thoughts of your own are so god damn important.

Been in Bitcoin since 2017, most of my wealth in Bitcoin since roughly 2023.
But before that I started saving in physical Gold and Silver.
Long story short, perhaps we should expect to going back to Gold and Silver.
Not that I like it, far from that.
Not that I want to go back to a society that could function on a Gold standard.
But because that is the only system I know of they can't really infiltrate and poison with their filthy fiat system.
So either we soon find a way to make Bitcoin 'fiat filthy' safe, by embracing an old release and basically freeze that one as sample.
Or I don't see another way of being able to keep the fiat filthy out.
Love to hear other views...

Most don't have to fully unravel what fiat exactly is, where it comes from, how it is created, and how it works.
'Just' asking themselves "why do you work for notes that some can print for free" is mostly more than sufficient..
But that means actually being able to seriously asking that question to yourself.
And from experience I can tell it is rather confronting and turned out to have huge implications...
Wouldn't want to go back though.....
