If you scroll to the bottom of your feed selector, you have a feed dashboard that gives you the highlights of your web of trust and how much they posted and interacted on Nostr in a 24-hour period

The internet is full of spam, and Nostr is no different. So how does Nostr Vault keep spam out of your inbox? Your Web of Trust.
Only the people you follow, and the people they follow, can reach your vault. Everyone else stays out.
New to Nostr? Scan the QR code of the friend who told you about Vault. You follow them, then pick from some people they trust most or any others, and your Web of Trust is built on day one.

Nostr Vault for Android Update
Your posts and DMs now go straight to the relays you picked, and the app waits for a relay to confirm before it shows "Posted", so you know it landed.
New accounts set up more smoothly too.

Exactly! You get relay in your pocket.
It’s only a weird setup because we never gave relays to people alongside their clients before.
The best part is, it’s completely interoperable with your other apps, so you can go between them and know when it come back it pulls your notes in!
Not to mention the Mac app, and the FIPS mesh network included.

2026-10-24 15:12:46 UTC

The question comes a lot, “Is it really a relay in your phone?” and the answer has always been - YES!
In releasing this app, we wanted to help people understand what Nostr is by putting the foundation of it; A HAVEN relay built on khatru, directly into the phone.
As soon as you understand that you run a relay, you understand the purpose of the network of them. Watch this first episode to get a good understanding for how you participate in the network by running a relay and keeping a full copy for yourself.

Nostr Vault 3.0 is out.
A Nostr client built around your web of trust. You decide who you see, and every feed follows your rules. Your own relay runs inside the app, so your notes, follows and media live on your device first.
New in 3.0: share your profile with a QR code, start with the circle of whoever told you about Nostr Vault, and serve your photos from your own phone over the FIPS mesh.

In this video @npub1t6j…ksrw discusses the outbox model and the importance of people understanding relays.
Hands down, this is exactly why Vault exists. By building a HAVEN relay directly into the phone, you have 100% total control over what goes in and out.
Having a visual WoT and Feeds to go along with they relay shows with detail what lens you are deciding goes into your Nostr experience.

2026-10-16 20:13:59 UTC

Nostr Vault build 38 is on TestFlight for iPhone, iPad and on the Mac soon™️.
New since the last build:
- Web of Trust globe comes alive: live stars for new notes, zaps as lightning, replies flying to who they answer
- 3D or 2D: switch the globe to a big scrollable network map
- Open in WoT: see anyone's circle of people, coloured by how close they are to you
- Quoted notes load more often: when a note can't be found, the app now asks a few extra relays
- Tapping a nevent link opens the note
- Photo posts are faster and more reliable: posts as soon as one Blossom server has the file
- Vault page shows pictures as thumbnails
- Search filters by who and when
- One Feed row on the iPad sidebar
- Mac: new menu bar icon and real notifications
- Smoother feed and faster language detection for translate
Feedback welcome, reply here.

You should try threaded view in Vault 🤘

2026-10-16 17:04:26 UTC

That gap is what Nostr Vault fixes. It runs a relay on your own device, so your notes and your follows' notes get saved there as they arrive. It also pulls your older notes back in from the relays that still have them. Your history stops depending on which public relays happened to be around when you posted. It depends of if your relay saw it first. Point every client at it and your phone and desktop see the same timeline.

2026-10-16 16:57:19 UTC

- reply

You can add the relay as an import relays. And then run an import to download everything to your local relay in the app 🙌

Do you mean the Mac app; or in development web app?
Thank you for testing!

2026-10-16 13:48:51 UTC

- reply

Thanks, your note helped us find it. nostr.build saves your picture under a new name, and the current Nostr Vault puts the old name in your note, so no app can find the picture. It's fixed for the next release.
Until then, change your media server to https://blossom.primal.net and remove the nostr.build ones. Your pictures should show up right away. Sorry for the trouble!
