I'm glad I'm not the only one to run into that problem. I've lost count of how many times I was like "I know of this one story that would totally add to the news article I am writing about" only to spend a half an hour Googling in vein trying to find it again. I wouldn't at all be surprised. Feeling like you have a lot to offer (as I was at the start of that project) and getting absolutely no one interested in you is an extremely mentally damaging thing to go through. I can see some people experiencing this and losing their minds completely after taking it personally when it's really the fault of the "apps" themselves.

2026-04-07 06:17:29 UTC

Thanks! The funny thing was that the only time I lost money throughout the project was when I "unwittingly" (I wouldn't have gone for it if I wasn't testing the system) paid money to eHarmony. It was the site itself that scammed me out of $300 which sucked. Still, I was fortunate enough to not get asked by someone for money, so there was that. Didn't make online dating any less of a failure, though.
