Oh baby anagram.chat

2026-10-16 10:10:45 UTC

I wondered why there are so many people joining Anagram who have not used nostr before.
The Anagram Youtube video has 7.3k views, that's organic Youtube growth, rather than people from bitcoin-x/nostr echochamber (where the video post has 100ish likes). A wave of new users 🙌
Now those people all have nostr accounts and will inevitably checkout social, marketplaces etc

I think someone is already building a lntxbot type bot, is pretty simple.
Having a wallet as a message thread is useful

2026-10-14 14:18:15 UTC

- reply

Doesn't have forward secrecy by design, as it makes restoring and opening threads across difference devices a pain. More generally Anagrams private group approach is just simple pragmatic and nostr native, so way easier to implement.

2026-10-14 14:16:19 UTC

- reply

You could have a bot you message then pay, and it adds you to a group

Yet few that work, and none that keep the telegram UX 1bn users are used to.

Prediction: as starlink infrastructure was actually remarkably cheap (tens of billions, nothing for gov spending), Chinese will do similar soon and offer "free" internet to the world, simultaneously screwing Starlink/US and creating an internet China can control.

In the UK we have the incredible charity Childline, which Dame Rantzen founded, a phone number any child can call for support/counseling. A godsend for so many children with nowhere else to turn. A remarkable charity, founded by a remarkable woman.

I use nostr.com for my daily nostr client and amethyst. Both work great. Never been exposed to horrible content. Im amazed things like primal are allowed to exist, and with all that vc capital they still have not implemented rudimentary client filters.

Using x to discuss bitcoin is a legitimate vulnerability. Musk and/or US gov can easily tweak the algo, shadowban, pit bitcoiners against each other.
It may sound sensationalist, but think about it, it's possibly one of our greatest vulnerabilities.

Predicruon: Ai bubble will pop within next few months. Trump will attempt a bail out to avoid market crash and "national security risk" of state sponsored Chinese models winning the race. Market crash will happen anyway, anthropic will get least support from Trump because Trump holds a grudge.

This is interesting. We had a takedown request for a post on our njump. We do not host the content, it is pulled from relays using the note id, so it's a bit like blaming a browser for the content after you enter a URL. Any nostr legal council out there?

Primal is one of the least functional clients, especially considering the resources used to build it.
Regardless of that, the real reason we dont have more users is nostr.com which i control, its the landing page for nostr, its where you go googling nostr. We get 1-2m unique views per week who all get scared away.
A beautiful industry of solutions hidden behind a shitty landing page.
Resources has always been our issue, we spend most of what we have maintaining LNbits, so nostr.com is a second thought. We also didnt want to be seen to be capturing users by hosting a client, but that time has passed, I think its possible to do and still funnel users into wider ecosystem.
Its quite remarkable this clear bottleneck isn't more obvious for an industry that had had huge sums invested. Its so obvious.
nostr.com should have a team of dedicated devs, focus groups, ux designers, instead its me squeezing in time every now and then. So yeah. Weird.

How I run my entire brick & mortar using ONLY LNbits (and its better than the legacy merchant systems i used to use)
✅ Fiat + Bitcoin payments (PoS & web)
✅ Shared inventory + order management
✅ Customer chat with paid support
✅ Notifications for orders, stock, and chat via Nstr/email/Telegram
✅ Stock & task management for employees
✅ Auto sync to Xero for easy reconciliation
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4fJGyGiih_c

2026-04-27 00:40:11 UTC

Fiat tap to pay in LNbits means merchants no longer need multiple payment systems.
One inventory, one accounts system.
I've been using nothing but LNbits in my brick/mortar for a few months and its perfect. I have a shared inventory and orders extension for the pos and webshop, as well as notifications (nostr, email) when there is a sale/order, or I have low stock 🥰

First ever UK Nostr conference 🥳
21st Nov Manchester
Will be epic: workshops, concise high-signal presentations and NO pointless panels 🎉 #nostrshire

I feel that between nostr, torrents, zaps and payment splits, the tools for building a better YouTube exist. Seeders could profit share v4v, users could pay or access for "free" via ads - both paying seeders and creators. Hosting burden is shared across paid users. Content ownership is easy enough with the crypto in nostr.

2025-04-22 11:56:02 UTC

When Caesar derailed, each took a stab to avoid blame. Same about to happen to Trump, but with his powerful supporters. A coordinated wave of them about to jump ship, enough so he can't use executive branch to retaliate. No one will want to be complicit with markets tanking.
