🐿️late night thought: FOSS guys make a big deal about free open source stuff and GPL licensing and owning your PC and all that, yet this all seems to have gone out the window now that they can happily pay big money to a corporation for a proprietary program to generate stolen code

🐭"oh man [game] is the worst game ever it's programmed so horribly" bestie it's a miracle that any game from the 90s or before even *exists*, I need you to understand this

2026-04-18 17:53:28 UTC

🐭gamers have been led to understand that old games were full of weird bugs and quirks and were inherently just programmed really poorly, without understanding that a lot of the reason why was because they were making games with stuff like this

🦨I think the problem with vibe coding isn't even having the computer do all the work for you, it's that when it ends up breaking, you have no idea how the code works and you're just spending hours trying to prompt your way out of it. meanwhile, your software (say, a certain social media) stays broke

🦊 Logging in real quick just to share: Blobun now has every single planned puzzle element implemented in some capacity! Now we can work on creating the rest of the puzzles that'll be in the game

🐭 just found out that AI job interviews (where the computer interviews you) is a thing and I'm like, if they can't take the time to get a real guy to interview me, then I can't take the time to work at their place

🦊 We've released a new build of Blobun! This one mainly focuses on polishing up the experience, with new/refined menus and much better graphics. Please check it out!

🦨 spent the day drawing input prompts so we can finally remind the player that they can sprint, and they can just undo (they dont have to restart the whole puzzle)

🦊Alright, here's the 17 argument function: I've effectively combined draw_sprite_ext and draw_sprite_tiled_ext, allowing the first to be used as a clipping mask for the second. Position, color blending, alpha, and scaling can be applied to both separately

🦊I also subsequently found out that Gamemaker lets you make functions with more than 16 arguments now. No idea how high it goes

2024-10-27 01:25:13 UTC

🦊 wrote a function that takes 17 arguments but I'm not gonna say what it does because it's funny knowing people will now speculate if I'm a really good programmer or a really bad programmer

🦊today's unnecessary feature: fancy animations for the stage select cards when you swap between worlds. I didn't need to add it but it's really fun
(also, general sneak peek at how the stage select screen is going, still lots to do though)

🦝 people have asked us why puzzle elements in shield cat are still interactable after the puzzle is solved, like "why can I spin against the rotating gear over and over when I've already solved it's puzzle?" and the answer is stimming
