Was it also possible to choose none of the options? That's what I would do. Keyboard, mouse, headset, all wired at my work place.

If I see such ridiculous prices and records stored horizontally then I'm outta here.

That looks promising! What soundcard are you trying to control with it?

This morning I found out through the #Ardour forums that Dave Phillips has passed away in November 2023: https://discourse.ardour.org/t/dave-phillips-1951-2023/111854
Dave Phillips was a pioneer when it came to Linux audio with his articles for the Linux Journal and by laying out the foundations for the Linux audio community.
Rest in peace Dave!

> Funnily enough the whole argument often goes away the moment you tell IT “I’m a contractor, my company only allows Linux on desktops. Let’s talk to the CTO that I won’t be able to do my job”. Magically and all of sudden *one* person can run Linux.
Even contractors are not allowed to access the corporate network from a Linux device. They are provided a company laptop if their own device does not meet corporate standards.

Recently I had a video call at work with the contractor who's going to replace me. He was puzzled that one of the reasons I resigned was that I'm not allowed to run Linux on my work station.
Can I, as a Linux engineer, demand a Linux work station? Is that weird? Am I too firm in my principals? Or is Linux on the desktop still so frowned upon that it's more like a matter of misunderstanding?
