it turned out to be very rough on the mobile screen - hard to scroll horizontally to read text that gets cut on the right edge, crashing when attaching files... So I use Gajim for notification and went back to Dino for reading and writing.
I hope future versions will fix these issues and I can rely on just one client.

thanks a lot for this great feature, though text still gets cut on the right side in mobile view, so I need to scroll horizontally, it is not very smooth as well. See the screenshot.
Also settings screens are not responsive yet.
But I overall like this and started using #Gajim over Dino on my #flx1 phone.
I like it can run in background, do moderation and manage users in groups.
One thing we still miss is voice and video calls in #Dino.

On second day of #PravConf we demonstrated voice and video calls using a local wifi network.
@npub1pt0…kujp @npub1fw5…p4dp and @npub12s2…vwz5 did a great job of pulling it together with #prosody running on a 500MB ram raspberri pi hanging on the podium of the stage!
WiFi netwok was created on untrusem's phone. Athul logged in via Monocles Chat and one of the participants, Sreedev logged in with Conversations.
It was fun when usb cable was pulled out live from the raspberri pi server.

#Prav recently got a contribution for a high priority feature with a bounty.
This was generated using an #LLM and we don't yet have a policy on accepting or rejecting such contributions.
Currently the community is discussing formulating a policy on LLM generated contributions and meanwhile whether to give an exception to this particular contribution or not.
The topic is deeply controversial and we have different opinions in the community.

If we have funds, we can hire system admins and they can address issues quickly.
We can't do it with just volunteers.
We run services as volunteers for 10+ years already.
durare.org poddery.com git.fosscommunity.in etc
Sometimes things remain broken for days, weeks or even months, even if the fix is as simple as updating tls certificate.
Sometimes the software never gets updated or updating is really hard.
In #Prav, we want to hire system admins to ensure timely fixes.

Do you see these #xmpp services replacing #WhatsApp one day? If we keep thinking we only need to make individual choices to defeat WhatsApp, we are going to lose.
Prav is a collective, coordinated effort. Our costs - hosting, SMS, events, developing features, all are real.
Someone has to pay, if you would like to sponsor the whole, we'd be happy to offer it free of cost as well :)
We just have to find the funds from somewhere, not necessary only from users directly.

It should be easy for and android dev, you just need to extract upi id from upi url in clipboard and copy it back to clipboard. Then just open tel://*99*1*3# url and paste the upi id from clipboard.
@npub12s2…vwz5 @npub1pnl…j80e @npub1rl4…0hx0 wanna give it a try? #upi #android #FreeSoftware
