The UK Age‑Verification Bill will not protect kids, will mean less privacy and more censorship
The new law forces users onto tiny, unregulated sites that can simply ignore the rules. Instead of keeping kids safe, it shoves them away from big, proven platforms and into corners of the web where age checks are non‑existent.
And it's happing in countries all around the world
This is a good explainer video from Techlore and well worth a watch

The Michigan Supreme Court ruled that search warrants for digital devices must specify limitations to protect privacy, as outlined in the Fourth Amendment. In People v. Carson, the court determined that warrants should only allow access to data clearly connected to the crime being investigated.

Airlines think people won’t stop yapping on their cell phones during flights, leading to more instances of “air rage.” That’s why regulators continue to ban phone calls and data usage on planes; it’s just plain annoying.

A backdoor implemented by the government gets exploited by the bad guys. This is why you can't put a backdoor in encryption software, we've been saying this for years!
Just to be clear, I am in no way saying that the government are the good guys.

Police use of face recognition technology (FRT) poses a particularly massive risk to our civil liberties, particularly for Black men and women and other marginalized communities
Government use of FRT needs to be banned or it will be abused
