Whats the benefit over herdr + roamgate?
I was also thinking about to write my own app for this, but I was like, can I just reuse an existing solution that knows the things I want?

I think that too. So we have to make it opensource and private! So it wont be the ultimate data collection source.

What is your thought on "task done" in terms of your harness?
I guess the most meaningful way to work is to make the best workloop. But it is hard in a sense, that it shall not restrict you too much, so you can do different type of tasks.

Interesting! I will check. I wanted to ask what do you miss from existing harnesses, that you need one from scratch. I am also writing my own, did not have time to fully finish it. Now I am trying to setup a minimal set of good instructions. It is hard to write a harness while changing the instruction files as well. So I am fine-tuning the instructions, then finish up my harness probably.

Synadia sounds interesting. I am still at a simpler level.
I am also building my own thing. I had a few failed trials already. I wanted to setup everything on one machine, so it can build itself without complication. So basically setting up the basic orchestration framework, and letting it build itself further out.
After its mostly built, I will take it to a next project, then I may try to extend for orchestration of different machines. Lets see.

2026-10-03 14:57:34 UTC

- reply

I also saw that, seems interesting. I also thought about qemu vm, but that probably wont work on simple VPSes.
I am at the moment using a wrapper script that sets up the container around the project folder. Works nice. The only issue is I have to separately connect to the projects, and the connection is not harness agnostic yet. Herdr seems an interesting solution for that.
Have you thought about using a deterministic orchestration framework where the framework makes sure the tests are passing, agents are not cheating, and executes the plan, development, review, fix etc loops deterministically?

2026-10-03 14:17:45 UTC

- reply

Cool, I am checking it. I am also using rootless docker for isolation + caddy sidecar to hide the credentials. But docker is vulnerable to kernel issues, and smarter agents could break out easily. App containers are not really for secure isolation. What are your thoughts and mitigations for these?

2026-09-29 17:57:57 UTC

When you want to design a system whose sole purpose is to build itself, is an interesting design problem.
The current faults of the system slows it down to improve, or even hinder it from improving.

I also saw a comparison, that e.g. the current 6 Astra rather equals to the capability of 5.6 sol, and 6 sol is more of 5.6 terra. So models are getting cheaper by name, but the price of capability is kept, or increased.
So the named tiers per different generation are not certainly giving the same capability for a lower price.

AgentFlow - my agent orchestration tool
The idea was to make a tool that elevates the speed and quality of development with proper cheat detection.
I wanted to make an agent use agentflow to build agentflow, to find the issues before I use it. Because I wanted to be lazy.
I found it quite hard to reach this point. The framework itself slowed down the development of the framework. It found issues after issues, and each issue slowed down fixing the others. At the end, it was fighting issues while other issues slowed it down, and it felt like nothing was improving.
I even restarted this idea like more than 3 times.

I am using these days harnesses in a docker container, with a caddy sidecar, that handles git credentials, api credentials, etc.
But beware that a docker container is not a secure and isolated way to run agents. With kernel vulnerabilities, agents can break out of the container in a few seconds.

2026-09-27 20:59:52 UTC

Working on an agent orchestration tool.
I am building a harness wrapper, that can use any harness, and implement code with predefined steps.
The magic is in how the architecture is done, to make cheating harder, and must done things executed by code.
I am using the tool to build and improve the tool itself.
Currently it works in a loop, and does an iteration, then a retro, then iteration, and so on. This self building loop seems to work nice.

2026-09-27 17:41:16 UTC

Cancelled claude code, feels good.
I dont support them anymore. If they are forcing you to use their own harness, and their models seemingly getting worse when a new one appears. Plus their harness sends bloated first messages.
Open harnesses are the standard!

You have to admit this definitely. Its not at all like you take responsibility, and it works. I guess at the end it boils down to trust vs control. It is not something you do once and set for life. If you want control, you get a "job" with it, if you can give up a little control, you need trust. No side is free.
