the idea is that allowing users to properly tag their content as such with transparency will remove the need for them to 'hide' llm use. likewise, moderation doesn't have the bandwidth to play arbitrator if someone is going off of "it could be ai"

we don’t answer to anyone but out users because YOU fund us.

i really hope vrchat changes their stance on ai labeling and filtering.
I don’t think it’s much to ask for creators to disclose their use, and letting users filter that content like they would any other tag. i usually stay out of vrc affairs but this has left me disheartened.

i appreciate the perspective! in my mind, i view using LLMs to be the same as using the content of someone work, without providing contribution or their explicit permission.
i apologize if that viewpoint is harsh, and if following question seems agressive.
isn't using an LLM the same as stealing, taking, or modifying people's content? since it's trained on data from people, the output that they produce are products of human labor.
i don't intend to accuse anyone or start a flame war, as i know that isn't your intention when you use these tools. I just want to understand how you see these two principles as different actions.

really want to have a genuine conversation about AI use in japan - specifically about 'morality'
the general consensus of LLMs in japan seem to be "it's a tool, despite the socioeconomic costs"' but the recent rise of video game recomps and mods have caused lots of outcry in the east, with many JP users saying "it's immoral to take what isn't yours and modify it without permission"
i'm mostly referring to the tekken 6 situation, where a pc port with rollback was made (using LLMs), and the east/west have been torn in opinion of it.
for most westerners, it's "a chance to replay our favorite game with online capability, and it's not like namco bandai was going to release it on PC ever", while for the east, many asians believe it to be a failing of morality and values when a game is pirated and modified without care of the original copyright holder
this isn't confrontional either, i genuinely want to understand the viewpoint. personally, i don't condone or agree with LLM use for anything, but i have my own personal beliefs, and want to see it from another asian perspective

people always talk about having 'spoons' as a finite resource to do things. i've learned apparently i got a shit ton stuffed in a drawer.
like, my body works!
it's relatively in shape and i'm able to walk +30k daily steps without issue, i love physical fitness and have the willpower to do so.
i have plenty of energy that lasts me an entire day, and can deal with most social interactions without feeling drained.
i like to do things the manual way when i'm able to. making electronics, building and configuring hw and sw, self-hosting, driving a manual gearbox, ect.
i've lived and traveled dozens of countries at this point, lived in everything from the rice farms, the slums, the deep south, and huge capital cities in almost all continents, and done cross-country events such as triathalons and bikepacking.
i hated the marines while i was active duty, though the level of absolute physical and mental dogshit that they put you through on a daily basis really does make 'normal' life a bit tepid.
i'm not boasting either, it's more of a realization that even though it comes from a place of suffering, i'm quite privileged when it comes to self-sufficiency.
I do wish I had more friends who were able-bodied and willing to do physical challenges with me, though I understand most people can't and love the time I get to spend with them nonetheless.
anyways as soon as I get back home I'm doing an itg marathon
