Slaughter waste in a bin over the stream. Big hole in the top so the flies get in, small holes on the side so the maggots get out and drop into the water. Lets see if we can fatten some trout!

From new years it’s illegal to sell timber from breaking new ground for agricultural use in Norway.
The circular regenerative concept we have built for years, illegal.
This picture is from my neighbours land, where I keep it tidy in the exchange for the timber.
It used to be a beautiful grass meadow, and is now a spruce plantation in shambles.
Tree plantations on agricultural land aint any good.
But I guess the EU beaurocrats dont want to hear about it.
Tree good, cow bad.
Even if the tree dies and the cows would thrive.
We’re not stopping though.
It’s time to go hunting for grey zones and loopholes.
And make some Norwegian politicians answer for themselves.

I have a lot of repetitative farm chores that are similar to that, like moving cows or splitting wood. It sure gets you into some form of zen.
But this felt different. May be related to it being something I dont have to do, but that is beautiful and long lasting if done right.

I think I discovered the most ancient form of meditation.
Putting one stone on top of another.
Then one more.
And another one.
Until your body is tired and your mind is clear.

GM the most valuable asset China has is their surveillance state as it can be sold to other countries which gives China access to information and ultimately power over those countries and their resources and the way to beat them is not by building our own surveillance apparatus but by building tools that help individuals all around the world claim their freedom and protect their privacy.

An update from last years pig area:
It is so lush that I cant forgive myself if I put the pigs back in and let them turn it up (we have too many pigs this year, so they would smash it in 2 hours).
Therefore I decided to buy my girlfriend a few lambs that can graze it for the whole summer.
She wanted lambs for three years now, but I’ve been holding back on starting anything new. It’s gonna be interesting to see the look on her face when she realises she already has some🤣

This hasnt even been grazed for the last three or five years.
Tons of good forage wasted in those years.
And if someone didnt lease it soon, it would have planted with spruce trees.
There are MANY such cases.
Get out there and save some farmland🤝

New truss ready. Originally from another building on the farm which was set up in 1907. We reuse good materials just like in the good old days.

Started on the inside yesterday. Have to change one of the trusses, so needed a scaffold on the inside.
Thought I might as well rebuild the floor I tore down last year and be done with it. Gonna build another 400 square meters (4300 sq ft) or so after I’m finished with the roof😅
Now a few days of forest work because of snow and rain, and then we start throwing off roof tiles💪

It’s gonna be a few weeks of extra long days, but boy is it gonna feel great to secure this buildings survival for another 100 years or so💪

We could never forgive ourselves if we covered this floor (which my great grandfather put down in 1959) with laminate or parquet.
So we decided to attack it with some real grind💪
Lets see if we can bring it’s beauty back to life.
