Finally reached the point where most of my spending is in Bitcoin, and it completely changed you from a consumer to a producer.

2026-03-22 12:50:36 UTC

Till this day, I still can't see what AI is adding value to my life.
Is it making better food? no.
Is it making better clothes? no.
Is it making me happier? no.
Then what's with all the fuss about it? 🤔

2025-11-03 11:33:10 UTC

Perhaps the real Bitcoin Standard is to surround yourself with honest and kind people, and then everyone works together towards a better future.
I don't see any problem if someone makes wonderful things, then you pay in cash. However, something feels off if you pay Bitcoin for junk.
Like what's the point of paying sats for fiat food? It's not about being able to pay in sats, it's about *what you're getting* and Bitcoin is only acting as the exchange medium.
The finest money deserves the finest things, IMHO.

2025-09-20 14:38:59 UTC

Only put what you are willing to lose in banks.

2025-08-14 12:24:47 UTC

I was speaking to a friend last night: if you are running a small business, usually people will pay via their bank. There are several issues with this, which many people do not see or understand. Firstly, the payment processor takes around 3%. Then, if you transfer the money to your local bank, another fee applies. Then, if you want to exchange the fiat currency into something else, another fee is incurred. Basically endless fee.
This is also before talking about inflation.
Now, if people pay in BTC, the fees are so low, and it's instant with Lightning. Waking up today, someone paid me in Lightning. Such a nice way to start the day!
One last thing: it is a JOY to create products and then sell them for sats. You control everything, I mean EVERYTHING. Your labor, your rules.

How to avoid Supermarket/ Chains
- Getting raw milk from farms, then make your butter, cheese, or yogurt if you have the time and energy ( yogurt is pretty easy )
- Getting olive and olive oil from Olive farms ( I think olive oil is the most important thing when it comes to cooking, I don't understand how some people can live without it 😂 )
- Getting meat from butchers, knowing your local butcher is really important, you might getting the best piece every time you go.
- Fresh veggies and eggs from weekly markets
How's your practice 👀

2025-04-10 10:13:08 UTC

One of my favorite cafes down the street can't be ordered online, you HAVE to go there IN PERSON ( in fact, most of the cafes here can't be ordered online), even though they have all the packaging ready. 🤯
I guess what they are really selling is the experience of sitting there and having conversations on top of the good coffee ( they even offered us tea for free sometimes ), cozy! And what the chains are really selling is convenience, thus average coffee but one-click order to door.

None of these beats directly connect with the people who are actually enjoying making the products.

Imagine people telling their kids to ask AI one day...

2025-03-23 12:24:16 UTC

Asking questions to the elder generation, patiently explaining, and even being happy to show how to.
Asking questions to the younger generation, some of them simply said ask AI.
I don't think AI is really the problem here; the problem is people think AI can actually be like a living human to teach you things, thinking and adapting, and sharing from experience.

2025-03-21 12:33:35 UTC

The ultimate freedom is not having enough money to buy whatever, but having the skills yourself.

2025-03-20 18:48:58 UTC

Many things seem to be *trying to help*, but actually, they are making you depend on them and slowly take away your ability/will to do things or fix the problems yourself.
- Takeaway Apps are taking away your ability or the will to cook.
- Makeup or skincare products are covering for bad eating habits or lifestyle.
- Perfumes are covering for bad body scent, which might also come back to bad eating habits or lifestyle.

Had a conversation with a friend, saying how transactional on the internet these days, seeing others like a number, you can just *follow/unfollow* or *delete* someone, which is quite dehumanizing.
I'm glad that I'm living in places where people would like to have a cup of tea and talk while getting things done. Initially, I wasn't used to this, but now I have grown into enjoying it, it's these little interactions that bring life more joy.

How to run your own bank like a banker, here are three layers of management as reference:
1. Put enough of sats in the LN wallets for daily spending.
2. Put a medium amount of btc in an onchain wallet, ideally in a desktop wallet ( especially if you are not running your own node ); this could act as the point where your income comes in or getting sats for extra spending. ( optional: a smaller one for emergencies).
3. Put the big fat stash stored in cold wallets, the money you would not use for a long time.

I wonder what's next 🤔 e.g., going back to live in the countryside and raise a family?

Saw someone talking about how "Most olive oil is not olive oil." I am fortunate enough to live in places where olives grow abundantly, and guess what's the simplest way to get the best stuff?
One of the hacks I've learned is to go to the weekly bazaar and ask the locals where they buy the olive oil from. No fancy bottles or labels, just people who have been selling this for many years from their family farm; No hard-selling, fair price, and delicious!
That's how word of mouth used to work, but then things get complicated when cities grow bigger and bigger, and people come and go, potentially even getting away from doing unethical things.

I was lucky enough to meet an usta and decided to make one together so that I can understand the process.
It looks simple but it takes so much focus and patience. And we spent more than three hours to make this one, but it can last for 100+ years 👀 He said I can even pass it down to my grandkids:p
But then I asked this master why did he pick this craft, as it's so tiring, and definitely not something you can make lots of money from, as he can only produce two brushes like this in a day. He said he want to make something beautiful and permanent in this world, how nice we still have people like this in this corrupted world.

I started to experiment with going out without phones these days, for a few people it works great, all you need is to confirm the time and location.
But for some, somehow seems unworkable, the phone almost feels like a tool to be irresponsible so can "communicate" 🙈
If everyone can be reliable and show up on time, why do we even need to carry the phone around? I mean people in the past just write letters and meet, and it worked.

I used to be one of those city people who keep buying things, but now I enjoy finding craftsmen to make things together.
Not only does it slow down the whole "buying" process, but also I can see with my eyes how things are being made from scratch. But the most important part is I really need to *think* about what I want because the last thing you want is to make something useless and ended up wasting so much time and money.
But then why do so many people still work in a job they hate and buy useless things so to impress people they do not even like?
