the rules don't need to make sense. This will be selectively applied anyway, only to the perceived enemies of the regime. Show your loyalty, pay the dues, and suddenly there will be no restrictions. Fascism has always worked like this.

excuse me but one billion kg of alumina from one million satellites can only be possible if one satellite contains 1000kg of alumina. That's clearly not the case

should, but often aren't. I'm saying as a long time daily user of matrix. The number of problems caused by this is so high that I totally understand how a non-technical person will end up with a broken account sooner or later, and never come back. Dismissing feedback won't help. Prioritize compatibility. Prioritize stability. Prioritize "users will never see Unable to decrypt". New features don't matter if it keeps breaking.

Half of the problems are caused by matrix.org instance not following the actual matrix protocol specs, or matrix.org instance introducing changes that break compatibility with other (non-synapse) servers or othe (non-element) clients.

my goal is to avoid supporting putin's supporters. I've been asking you directly about this many times before, you were gaslighting. This is the first time you said anything about a hijacking attempt and it raises more questions than answers. Come clean or I'll have to continue asking.

really smooth changing the scope of the question. And I still want to know whether the person who got you kicked from github for vacationing in a "disputed territory" is still on your team? Will they be receiving some of the donations?

But no punishment for the people in charge of those concentration camps? Like how is that possible? I park wrongly and I get a fine. These guys violate the basic human rights and they get "ordered to give three meals from now on"??

That's such a weird angle. "Who is responsible for keeping my democracy?!?!" YOU ARE! Otherwise it's not a **DEMO**cracy. Watch and learn: https://truthout.org/articles/we-said-we-will-block-everything-and-we-did-inside-italys-strike-for-gaza/ cancel your subscription to the fascist government same as you cancelled Disney+ for Kimmel.

yeah so where is the general strike? Where are the daily mass protests? Where is anyone meaningfully standing in the way of fascism? After they clean up the military to their liking, you won't have a chance. I think you have a couple of weeks left. Risk and cost of protesting is only going up.

So would you say that this is the bug of specs? So in case of differences client developers should take the matrix.org server as canon? Because I still don't think that's the right way. Matrix.org server is the one failing to implement the specs here.

Here Cinny chat recently encountering the issue with "tulir" (seemingly representing matrix.org?) confirming that this break of all spec-following clients was done by design

Unfortunately no, this is not a synapse problem, only matrix.org instance problem and I don't see any way to report issues just for that instance. Context: spec says that there is a POST route for deleting devices. Client apps implement it. Now matrix.org decides to do things differently without telling anyone. This route returns 404 from matrix.org, but works on any other synapse. Some people in some random chat rooms discovered that we are supposed to use account.matrix.org

2025-06-26 08:03:14 UTC

Dear @npub1m9z…whzq , what is the point of maintaining specs of a protocol, if you then decide to break it on matrix.org server so all client apps have to choose between following the specs XOR being compatible with your server? If the Foundation is really the steward of the protocol, then do something about this. It is happening way too often. Currently here https://spec.matrix.org/v1.14/client-server-api/#client-behaviour-9

There are also alternatives to the commercial n8n, such as good old Node-Red, or a couple of "open-source-when-you-cut-out-the-enterprise-bits" https://automatisch.io/ and https://www.windmill.dev

Direct blatant lie. Freedom as long as you don't want to use it for a business. Please stop diluting what open source means.

It's not that hard. You just have to open your mind. Instead of invisible reactions this could be sending normal text messages `*Adam checked [x] option one` and supporting clients would render it as a checked checkbox, but unsupporting clients would at least have a meaningful fallback. The problem here is that Krille totally forgot to think about the unsupporting clients. And that's how we lose people.

Guys, I'm talking about real use-case - imagine a group of 70 people where everyone has different client app and on a different homeserver. Suddenly one guy posts a new cool checklist.. what will happen? You really haven't considered this scenario?

well that's one way to interpret that. The other way is that the main contributor of Organic Maps went for vacation to Crimea and I think that would be a pretty good reason to be kicked out of everything. Even the [@nlnet](https://social.nlnet.nl/@nlnet ) grant or any hosting.

Maybe you are trying to read a little bit too much "in". Your logo contains a picture of a gun, there is no question about that. If they don't want to print pictures of guns, then it doesn't matter that it's "only a picture" or that "someone else is okay with that". Saying that it's just a "stylized gaming emblem" is akin to a flat-earth argument, don't scoop that low.

I don't think anything the Democrats did can explain why people vote for a racist, sexist, authoritarian, convicted felon, who openly promotes fascism and promises to make everyone's life worse, except for a couple of his friends. The only explanation that withstands scrutiny is that, unfortunately, the voters, society as a whole has in fact turned more fascist. It's not even Trump's fault, he just saw it and used it. Any power-hungry wannabe dictator could do the same.

yes but that directory is hardwired into the rest of the code. Deleting the proprietary parts and then trying to build the open-source part alone results in hundreds of missing imports.

Cal.com doesn't work without the proprietary parts of the code. It's fake open-source™, helping to dilute what the term means.
