No bitcoin demonstrated that 97% of the hashpower doesn't care about your virtue signaling.

RIP BIP-110. Who could have seen this coming?

2026-08-04 15:56:44 UTC

And there you have it, the final step of bitcoin derangement syndrome, the final fork off and altcoin. Enjoy your bcashjr coin.

My heart goes out to all those affected by the cold card compromise. Hopefully we can get covenants activated on bitcoin for better reactive security in the future.

LOL WTF are you even talking about. You think 110 people selling their 10 btc in total is going to change anything? LOL.

So get this...
Apparently all the Knots people don't understand that Knots is just Luke's personal project that he unilaterally pushes changes to whenever he feels like with no public community review whatsoever.
I believe in multiple implementations and running whatever you want but...
Knots is NOT safe IMO and I'd never trust it with my coins.

LOL Core is a decentralized group of developers that have no affiliation or contact with Citrea and these ridiculous conspiracy theories type of FUD helps nobody.

Wrong, it's signaling now with over 1k nodes, there WILL be chain split in September.

The chances are simply higher when using peer-reviewed software vs non peer-reviewed software. They literally can't even hire another dev for Knots despite their best efforts, but nobody wants to work on it 😕

Terrible analogy to software integrity.

2025-06-19 02:15:47 UTC

No. This misunderstands bitcoin's design because consensus is defined by the network, not the client. Core's code reflects consensus rules but doesn't dictate them.

2025-06-18 19:32:10 UTC

I don't know who needs to hear this but Core is not a monopoly . You can't have a monopoly on open source software that people voluntarily choose to run.

By "masses" you mean a couple thousand or less.

The code is open source just like Core, so I've looked into it just to see how many people actually contribute, and it's only Luke. Core devs may have checked out the github but that's quite different from seriously reviewing code.
The conclusion is to run the software that is the most robust, and that is Core.

> So it's like having all them plus Luke work on Knots
No. This is what I'm trying to tell you, when it comes to engineering, anytime you're modifying someone else's code without those people reviewing it, bad things can happen. And luke has added ALOT of code over the years.
> Let's be honest though, I bet many core developers read the knots github
Not a single core dev I've ever talked to has looked at Knots code, ever, because that's additional work that they don't want to deal with. Working on 1 FOSS project is hard enough because it's hard work with little to no pay, let alone trying to review others.

2025-06-11 13:03:43 UTC

- reply

What? No there's only one maintainer which is Luke who force pushes his changes straight to master with 0 review.

2025-06-10 18:36:23 UTC

- reply

Don't worry the hype will wear down and people will run software that is not maintained by a single person, that's the real joke, is that people are running knots at all. Best of luck.

2025-06-10 18:26:48 UTC

- reply

CTV has nothing to do with jpgs, but you can keep your garbage software that luke pushes straight to master with zero other contributors.
Oh, and is this what you mean by "exploding"?

Hilarious watching Samson try to argue with developers, just keeps getting ratioed over and over again.

2025-06-03 05:28:33 UTC

Long before the terms "crypto bros" or "suit coiners" were coined (pre-ICO/DEFI/NFT/MSTR) there were real bitcoiners telling you to only buy bitcoin.
Bitcoin has since grown immensely but the real ones are easy to spot, they'll still only ever recommend you buy bitcoin.

Replace the word crypto in your long winded response with the word crack and then try to figure out how you sleep at night scammer.

When you use bitcoin-only products and services you strengthen the network.
When you use altcoin products and services, you weaken it.
