This is federal.
Self-custody is being discussed.
We did discuss protections from the EPA. Feel free to ennumerate any specifics that might be needed.
We discussed the cap gains. We'd love to eliminate cap gains but it might not be feasible.
Currently, Senator Loomis' bill caps it at transactions of $200 or less, per transaction.
We discussed maybe doing an annual cap, the greater of say $10,000 or one crypto monetary unit.
By using a crypto monetary unit, the fiat amount grows with inflation. Thoughts on that?

This is what I look like when I'm talking to a congressional office about drafting a bill to protect Bitcoin.
What items would you include?
(Seriously, send ideas if you have them. Not regulate, protect).

I disagree.
Freedom is the glue.
Patriotism has no value if we are not free.

I think there can be other variables that impact it and other forms of wealth.
But even money is store energy. You applied energy (labor), you traded it for money, and that money represents a proof of work that you can then exchange for someone else's energy (labor).
Through our work and innovation, we then created new methods of labor, where we can create more energy than just from the human body alone. But that's still wealth in the same sense.

This statement doesn't support your point.
I'm here for a real conversation if you'd like to have one.

Maybe we're discussing this incorrectly.
Energy IS wealth. If you have energy, you are rich. If you are rich, you have energy.

We used to look up, see the universe, and wonder how, and why.
Today, we are lucky to see a handful of dim lights.
How many great minds had their creative juices stirred by sitting out late, staring into the great expanse?

Removal of the gold standard was government's admission that it has no intention of ever paying it's debts.
There is no worry of redemption for an underlying asset.
When debtors call, it simply prints the notes, that have become the new standard, necessary to fulfill its obligation.
In essence, the government counterfeits its own money, debasing the value of its own note, at the expense of all those who use and are reliant on that same note.
Value has been stolen from the citizens to facilitate government largess, benefitting the politically connected.

Next on my belated spring cleaning of my tech closet is an HP Dev One.
This was a collaboration between HP and @nprofile…9sta and runs on @nprofile…t2ud.
This is a great little machine but because of work, I've consolidated down to a Macbook.
I purchased the HP Dev One back in 2022 and used it as my daily personal laptop over the past two years.
