I *have* to be making this harder than it is. Can anyone link me to a #Purescript SPA that doesn't use parcel or next.js that is trivial to run locally (like on localhost).
I tried and failed to use rollup.

I saw a bumper sticker today. From a distance, I thought it said "Chinga tu Madre" and that was overly aggressive. When I got closer it clearly said "Chinga La Migra", and I thought "Oh. That's fair."

@nprofile…d0yj The _only_ excuse not to vote: too busy with revolutionary activities during the _entire_ voting period.
I advocate strategic, lesser-evil type voting if you are still working in a plurality system (most of the U.S.). But, if you'd rather "protest" vote some other way, at least vote and don't let them scrub you from the rolls.
We really need some approval / ranked-choice with E2E verified voting in place, but not having a good voting system is _not_ a good excuse not to vote.

Anyone that has ever streaked on Rogule should drop their next entertainment 8 USD on Dungeons of Freeport (https://store.steampowered.com/app/4579170/Dungeons_of_Freeport/) by @nprofile…hmew
You get a new procedural dungeon each day, but if you can make it out with any profit, you can carry it over to the next day. There's optional crafting aspects as well -- so you can turn some of those mushrooms into potions, maybe.
And, like Rogule everybody gets the same dungeon each day, so you can compare with other players. I haven't found out a simple way to turn by post-delve report into a toot, but it's still quite fun.

@nprofile…vuvh Gum helped some for me, too. But, evidently I suck at chewing gum, because I had a couple of times when I was chewing and bit the inside of mouth hard enough to bleed, and mess up the surface for days.
So, I don't chew gum much right now, but I do try to listen to my gut instead of my tongue for when I should eat.

Hot take: Gas, particularly in USA, should be **much** higher priced, in order to pay for government programs to offset the damage burning it does to the environment and to pay citizens/workers to encourage getting away from burning fossil fuels, while simultaneously ending ALL subsidies and tax-code benefits for fossil fuel companies and providing assistance to any industry workers that are impacted by any downsizing.

@nprofile…d0yj Yes, I would call using genAI for writing or art, doing writing or art.
But, outside of documentation, I don't do writing, and I've never been very artistic
Writing is named for the process/method but is more about the output or you couldn't write with a keyboard. Art and programming are named that way because of the output, not the specific tools or techniques.

@nprofile…9ake You can try Ctrl+Alt+Backspace to kill the X session, tho it might require a doubled input.
Shift+Alt+Fn might also get you to one of the terminals running the background.
Alt+SysRq has a number of features that can sometimes get you to interactivity, though if you use some of the options, a reboot might be the fastest way to get your system back to "normal".
But, I have had bad shaders hang my AMD card in such a way that the console was unrecoverable. In fact, I've sometimes needed a cold boot to really clear things up, with a warm boot bringing the system "back up" but without any video output from the AMD card.
Best of luck!

Just put in another application via #LinkedIn so I also wanted to try to get #FediHired again.
I've been a programmer since 1985 (as a child), I've been an IT professional since 1995 (pulling wires and swapping cards and configuring MS Windows). I graduated from University of Arkansas Fayetteville with a BS in CS in December of 2003. A full resume is available.
I currently require a 100% remote position. I cannot relocate from Cove, #Arkansas.
I prefer something where I can be a high-performing individual contributor: reading, writing and improving source text the majority of my day, with some time spent knowledge-sharing with other developers -- learning and teaching. I'd like to work with #Haskell, #Purescript, or #Idris as the primary source language, but I can be productive in almost any language (on PHP, please; I promised myself never again).
I would prefer W-2 employment with a base salary of at least 130k USD/yr, plus some sort of retirement offering (401k or similar) and healthcare benefits (HDCP + HSA or similar).
(Boosts appreciated.)

@nprofile…wuyc I think it's likely we'll want currency for several more generations. It's just too useful in simplifying trading. We might see syndicates exist primarily to decide monetary policy for a currency they create / secure.
Whether it's something normally civil but authoritarian (like income / wealth taxes), or ad-hoc "mobs" enforcing "sharing", we will end hoarding of wealth. Resources will be put to use, whether by their "owners" or via redistribution.
All the needs and most of the wants of humanity will be available to all since they will be plentiful.
Some resources will be scarce until we solve fusion plasma element extraction, automated molecular synthesis, and bootstrappable additive manufacturing. But, even those resources will be managed in a way to serve more than just an individual or family.
... Either that or climate collapse will destroy global society and we won't as a species be able to survive the next Chicvulub because we won't have access to surface petrochemicals.
