I built another game, and it's finally playable.
Alembic is a text alchemy game, built for screen readers first. You start with fire, water, earth, and air, then combine them two at a time to discover 82 elements and chase 20 goals. No drag-and-drop, no timers, no fail states. Just buttons, a cauldron, and the little rush of a new discovery.
It's in alpha. It saves your progress automatically, and every element has a short line of flavor read aloud when you find it.

Update from the nursing home. My gastroparesis is flaring again and the facility can't provide liquid nutrition. I've been asking since Saturday. The dietician thought I meant broth. The doctor didn't let me explain. They keep bringing me solid food I can't eat.
My mom brought medical food shakes from home that work, but I'm out and she can't keep supplying them. My SSI check this month is $30 because the nursing home takes the rest. That doesn't cover my phone bill, let alone the AI tools I use to function, or medical food if we have to keep buying it ourselves.
If the nursing home can't feed me, my mom may have to pull me out, which could derail the group home placement we've been working toward.

I built a screen-reader-first kingdom builder because I can't play most games made for blind people.
Most audiogames rely on spatial audio and grids I can't process. So I made one with no grid, no spatial audio, no timers. Just keyboard shortcuts, semantic HTML, and a calm strategy loop.
It's called Everrealm. The alpha is live and the feedback from AudioGames.net has been encouraging: confirmed working on NVDA/Chrome, Orca/Firefox on Linux, and VoiceOver on iOS.

Hoping those familiar with #LaTeX can give me some advice here. I've started using it to create my assignments for school. I'm not writing technical papers yet, but I find using LaTeX with #Zotero in #VSCode more #accessible with a #ScreenReader than most other setups I've tried.
Since my discussion posts have to follow #APA style, I’m using LaTeX for those as well as full papers. That part is going well—but I’m running into trouble when I need to actually post what I’ve written.
My school uses Brightspace, which allows discussion posts in either rich text or #HTML. I have #Pandoc installed, so I tried converting my LaTeX source to HTML and pasting the code. But Pandoc didn’t include my references section in the output.
I also tried copying from the PDF, but that stripped all formatting.
Does anyone know how I can get a clean HTML version of my work—with references included—that I can paste into Brightspace?
Here’s the command I’ve been using:
pandoc main.tex \
--bibliography=references. Bib \
--csl=apa.csl \
--standalone \
-o main.html
It creates the HTML file, but the references section is missing.
Any tips?

To other #blind #students, what tools have you used to help you formate your papers with #APA styling and #citations? My #university provides #Perrla for free to students, but it doesn't seem to be the most #accessible with #ScreenReaders, at least not the online version. I haven't tried the add-on for #MicrosoftWord. With the online version, though, I don't see any keyboard shortcuts, and when you move into the edit box to start writing a paper, focus gets trapped there and it's hard to get out, so I don't think it's the best tool for me. The only other tool I know of is the reference manager built into Microsoft Word, but it seems to have fewer features and doesn't really help you format your paper like Perrla does, something I was looking forward to since all the APA rules for styling seem hard to remember.

Help Needed: Homepage Dashboard "Failed to construct 'URL'" Error
Hi everyone! 👋
I'm encountering a persistent issue with my self-hosted Homepage dashboard (v1.1.1). Some tabs with bookmarks fail to load, showing the error:
TypeError: Failed to construct 'URL': Invalid URL
This happens on multiple tabs, including Accessibility_Resources and Shopping. I've tried troubleshooting by:
Validating my YAML files (all are valid).
Using lowercase tab names without special characters.
Ensuring all URLs in bookmarks.yaml are absolute (http:// or https://).
Clearing browser cache and testing in multiple browsers.
Despite these efforts, the issue persists. The error appears in the browser console as follows:

🚨 Help Needed: #CORS and #Cloudflare Access Issues with #Nextflux + #MiniFlux Setup 🚨
Hi everyone! I’m struggling with a #SelfHosted setup and could really use some advice from the self-hosting community. Lol I've been trying to figure this out for hours with no luck. Here’s my situation:Setup
MiniFlux: Running in #Docker on a #RaspberryPi500 (#Stormux, based on #ArchLinuxARM).
Nextflux: Hosted on Cloudflare Pages.
Reverse Proxy: #Caddy (installed via AUR).
Cloudflare Access: Enabled for security and SSO.
Cloudflared: Also installed via AUR.
CORS Settings in Cloudflare Access: Configured to allow all origins, methods, and headers.What’s Working
MiniFlux is accessible from my home network after removing restrictive CORS settings in both Caddy and MiniFlux.
Nextflux is properly deployed on Cloudflare Pages.The Problem
Nextflux cannot connect to MiniFlux due to persistent CORS errors and authentication issues with Cloudflare Access. Here are the errors I’m seeing in the browser console:
CORS Error:Access to fetch at 'https://rss.laniecarmelo.tech/v1/me' from origin 'https://nextflux.laniecarmelo.tech' has been blocked by CORS policy: No 'Access-Control-Allow-Origin' header is present on the requested resource.
Cloudflare Access Redirection:
Request redirected to 'https://lifeofararebird.cloudflareaccess.com/cdn-cgi/access/login/rss.laniecarmelo.tech'.
Failed to Fetch:
Failed to fetch: TypeError: Failed to fetch.
What I’ve Tried
Service Token Authentication:
Generated a service token in Cloudflare Access for Nextflux.
Added CF-Access-Client-Id and CF-Access-Client-Secret headers in Caddy for rss.laniecarmelo.tech.
Updated Cloudflare Access policies to include a bypass rule for this service token.
CORS Configuration:
Tried permissive settings (Access-Control-Allow-Origin: *) in both Caddy and MiniFlux.
Configured Cloudflare Access CORS settings to allow all origins, methods, and headers.
Policy Adjustments:
Created a bypass policy for my home IP range and public IP.
Added an "Allow" policy for authenticated users via email/login methods.
Debugging Logs:
Checked Cloudflared logs, which show requests being blocked due to missing access tokens (AccessJWTValidator errors).Current State
Despite these efforts:
Requests from Nextflux are still being blocked by Cloudflare Access or failing due to CORS issues.
The browser console consistently shows "No 'Access-Control-Allow-Origin' header" errors.Goals
Allow Nextflux (hosted on Cloudflare Pages) to connect seamlessly to MiniFlux (behind Cloudflare Access).
Maintain secure access to MiniFlux for other devices (e.g., my home network or mobile devices).My Environment
Raspberry Pi 500 running Arch Linux ARM.
Both Caddy and Cloudflared are installed via AUR packages.

Is there a better way to configure CORS for this setup?
Should I be handling authentication differently between Nextflux and MiniFlux?
How can I ensure that requests from Nextflux include valid access tokens?
