May or may not be referring to this incident from yesterday morning.

But I'm sure there are plenty of other occurrences getting missed or not recorded as well.

This was one of their biggest blunders so far. They assumed we would just mind our own business. They somehow assumed that the community that has gone through the reckoning of both George Floyd and Philando Castile would be on the side of their white nationalism.
Do we still have our problems? Of course, what city doesn't. But we'll never turn on our neighbors.

And a monologue king!
Bly Manor is definitely underrated imo. Midnight Mass is way up there. The Fall of the House of Usher is such a great Edgar Allan Poe... allegory? Is that the word I'm looking for?
You should definitely watch Doctor Sleep, one of my favorites. And Life of Chuck, but that one is just absolutely devastating.

That's why the sequal (Doctor Sleep) is better!
(You man be del Toro fan account.. I'm a Flanagan fan account😂 )

>Either way though, you will never be in "control" of your emotions.
But you can become a master of shutting them out. That is, of course, until the tax becomes to high and then instead of just feeling things in the moment and letting them pass they come out all at once usually in the form of anger and spite and almost always at the expense of other people or yourself.
Definitely don't have years of personal experience there.

With everything going on in my life I can at least take pride in the fact that I didn't peak in high school.

>Kind of scary, almost.
Burdened with the knowledge that our words have weight unlike so many who just parrot the garbage they were taught without an ounce of self reflection.

go to the one in your town and film. Spread it wide.
A protest in a city is nothing new.
Seeing 30 people gathered in a red town? That means something.

My oldest sister always texts me on my birthday.
She was always my favorite sibling. Whether it was riding with her in her mustang while I was really little, spending nights at her house while my parents were traveling, or just watching movies together that our parents may not have otherwise allowed me to watch (Terminator 3 comes to mind.)
I really wish I could have actually had a sister to sister relationship with her. Maybe I can get something to work in the future, sure, but that would require coming out, and the women in my family tend to talk a lot. It also wouldn’t fill that hole of wanting an older sister that was actually in more of that like, mentor role.
Idk. I don’t even know where I was going with this, other than this message so much joy and so much sadness all at the same time. A piece of me is shouting to just be open, while the realistic side is just beating it down with the sad reality that is religious conservatism.

That being said. A strict timeline of benadryl seems to have saved my partner from the worst of her covid vaccine.
She's never had a good time with the vaccine, but the last time she was laid up for a week +. It was only in prepping for her shot yesterday that she found someone else who had a thread on bsky about vaccines triggering an MCAS reaction. So far it looks like she just has the flu-like malaise syptoms, and if that's truly the case that is wonderful news. ^_^

In other news. MCAS is a bitch. (not me)

it is incredible to me how much variance there is between sects even under evangelicalism.
I can only speak anecdotally for Reformed / Christian Reformed. My mother would never dare challenge my father on anything, especially religion. His word was final. They tried to instill that same bullshit it me but it never stuck.
Near the end of my first relationship my sister gave me a book to give to my girlfriend on biblical womanhood because she was, quote, “not submissive enough” because she had opinions.

In my childhood church it was owned up to.
Women were to remain silent.
Never to teach, except for children, as is their duty. They also had to have their own bible study groups as women could only teach other women.
Which, honestly, was just trying to neatly package the word "property" and make it more palatable.

up next 9/11 2: Electric Boogaloo.
If beating the war drums on its own doesn’t spark nationalistic pride, another attack on US soil killing thousands of civilians to unite us all in an “US vs the world” scenario is surely not out of the question.

So in an effort to unplug a bit more I picked up a Kobo eReader. Now I have no idea to do with it. I started The God Delusion since it’s been on a mental to do list for years, but I need something… lighter. So I’m looking for recommendations. Bonus points if I can find it on Libby.
I’ve never been much of a reader, but the books I enjoyed reading were:
Books by John Green
Ender’s Game
Holes
Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy
I enjoyed the Hunger Games by audio book, but otherwise that’s about it.
Any recs I’ll add to a list, I just can’t make promises I won’t give up on it. <_<
Though I’m really going to try to stick to it this time!
