Tänään ajattelin taas kiittää veronmaksajia. Vuoden 2019 lopussa kuurouduin. Veronmaksajien suosiolla avustuksella. Kiitos siis teille. :blobcat_owo: t: kyborgi

I don't think there would be enough adoptive parents if ALL of the zygotes and fetuses that are now aborted would be carried to term. Let's say in the US it hovers somewhere around a million / year. Well that would mean a million more babies to adopt since the expecting parents obviously didn't want them. Well, the number of kids yearly adopted in the US is now less than 100k. It would mean an increas of over 1000%. Who is supposed to care and raise all the unwanted babies? State?

I also hate that Thiel has highjacked the Tolkien lore and now everything named after a Tolkien universe thing sounds horrible and bad. There's Erebor, Anduril, Palantir, Mithril Capital, Durin, Rivendell One LLC, Lembas LLC, Valar Ventures and Sauron Systems. Screw you, Thiel! :blobcatreeeeeee: Stop stealing the sacred lore!

In the Charlie Chaplin movie The Kid, the tramp and the kid earned living by fixing windows. The kid would go ahead and throw rocks in peoples windows, then the helpful tramp would show up and just happend to have a fresh window glass, ready to replace the broken one. :blobcat_owo:

When referring to your apartment, you should say "this is my 3 dimentional" instead of "this is my flat," for the sake of accuracy. :blobcat_owo: #maths #math

Me now: craving for the 80's 8-bit retro games and BBS groups... :blobcat_wonder:

Okay well now I feel a bit silly, cos I might have figured it out...
I changed the condition to:
if (useSecondClosest && distanceRatio > distanceThreshold && minDistance > 0.001) {
meaning
useSecondClosest -> are we in a %2 cell?
distanceRatio > distanceThreshold -> is the ratio of the two closest colors such that it would make sense to dither
minDistance > 0.001 -> are we far enough from first color?
This last check eliminates the case of exact match.

This much I can do right now:

My guess is it's something to do with the distanceRatio > distanceThreshold condition, but I haven't figured out what.

I've got an OpenGL shader on my PixiJS project that is meant to force any color to the specified palette, which in my case is 8-bit NES... If the color is somewhere almost between two colors, then it's supposed to dither it, which would be super nice... What ends up happening is if the color is EXACTLY correct, precisely one from the palette, then it always dithers it. And I don't know why. If I change the color slightly off, then it renders it solid as the correct color. Send halp. #JavaScript

I'm trying to play Indiana Jones & The Last Crusade on my MacBookPro with ScummVM. Otherwise it's okay, but the fighting scenes buttons make no rhyme or reason. They would make, if I had a separate 3×3 numpad like old keyboards. Then there would be logical retreat, block, high, mid, low punches. But having to use just the number keys 123456789, there's no natural, directional correlation to what button does what.
Nothing I'd rather do than be punching the lights outta some nazis.

I'm listening to a @npub1kgt…4kud podcast episode on Indiana Jones, and I remembered I have bought some LucasArts games on Steam... I had Loom, and I had Indiana Jones & TFOA... Yay! But.. Frick! It doesn't play anymore on my new macOS. The 32 bit support was dropped at one point. I wonder if there's any plans of wrapping these in some sort of a virtual machine to make them run on newer Macs? I know I could install a virtual machine but I really can't be bothered. #retrogaming

Keeping with the tradition of corporations changing their logo to Pride theme for a month, here's my personal logo updated with the theme.
Have I ever explained what this is? maybe not? Here goes... I made this as a suggestion for an aspiring Satanic Church, but they rejected it so I just use it my own now. Lengthy explanation follows... 1/n

1000 richest people are approched. "The end of the world is here. Time to go to your doomsday bunker", they are told. The billionaires nodded. They knew this was coming. They were prepared.
So they gathered their loved ones and locked themselves in luxury bunkers. No contact to outside world.
10 years later they emerge. The world has healed. The air is breathable, people are happy. "What was the catastrophy?" they ask the first person they meet.
She screams: "THEY GOT OUT!!!"
