Also @bovaz@mastodon.online, but I'm trying to move to using prevalently this.

#mirtilli #orto #rododendri #giardinaggio #fediask #chiedifedi

@nprofile…442n @nprofile…9x5t @nprofile…t22t sarebbe molto figo.

Ok idroelettrico.

Today the manager of my manager tried giving me a speech about how we should all adopt llms in development.
His motivation is as follow: they sold to our consultancy customers the tale that AI would make development faster and cheaper. So now the customers are asking for everything to be delivered quicker and cheaper. So now the bosses are asking us to make everything quicker and cheaper, even though we told them it wouldn't work that way. So we won't be able to make everything magically quicker and cheaper.

@nprofile…7ffg @nprofile…rdwg spitballing here, but the first question that came to me is: why is posting videos free? As the videomaker, you already spent time and probably money making the video, so paying a bit for posting it wouldn't necessarily make a lot of difference. Kind of like putting your game on steam, or most of the other storefronts. This would filter out some automated spam things, maybe. However, it would also filter out some independent creator. So, I don't know.
Then you as a videomaker should be free to pick ads you want and put them when you want in the video. The default should be no ads, because that's better for the users, and because for the video platform to pay you you'd have to provide additional info. This setting should be reviewed periodically, because ads change.

@nprofile…pfuj @nprofile…3u8d @nprofile…klcd Honestly, I love the "no ads" thing, but not everyone I know agrees. Sure, they complain about ads, but it's mostly where they interrupt what they are doing. Often, they don't mind, or even enjoy, well done ads that fit with the flow of what they are doing.
The ad industry thought that making people numb by forcing more ads at us from everywhere all the time was the solution, but in truth well made well placed ads turn out to be seamless, and people don't mind them.

I think properly crafted human curation is a big part of that.

@nprofile…pfuj @nprofile…klcd I like that. I think people should then also be able to opt-in to a "thing" where they also sporadically get posts that aren't in any of their chosen feeds, but are "related", for example by virtue of being in the feeds of the some of the people they follow, to give the sense of serendipitous discovery of new stuff. Maybe, a somehow tunable "serendipity factor" that widens the concept "related".
I think a tab like tab would usually be more useful/interesting than the local/global timelines.

Primo giorno di lavoro dell'anno. Purtroppo non ho vinto la lotteria.
Quest'anno ho in programma diverse spese, e devo capire preventivi e simili.
Dovrebbe avere cestino/portapacchi. Idealmente, batteria rimovibile per portarmela in casa a ricaricare.
#raccomandazione

Affermazioni che a me suonano sempre come preparatorie all'apologia di cose orribili.

@nprofile…cgqy ma poi:

@nprofile…yap8 @nprofile…87np the EU should go after foreign AI companies that are ignoring legislation, by fining them out of business. Instead it looks like it will change its laws to make stealing data legal again.

@nprofile…gaq2 When Berlusconi died here, many of us celebrated.
But a lot of people didn't: even most of the media was all "we should remember the good things, the accomplishments, being happy is in bad taste", while the truth is he was a criminal who seriously wrecked our democracy, our society and our culture.
People here are still vilified for celebrating the death of Mussolini, after all.
I'm just saying this as a warning: I hope things get better for the US, be mindful of our negative examples.
