This morning I learned:
1. Spanish Moss is neither Spanish nor moss. (I thought as much, but wasn't sure and could never be arsed to look it up.)
2. It is an airplant.
3. Airplants are real. (Seriously, I grew up with my mom swearing they are just fake plants for people with black thumbs to feel good about themselves.)
4. You can totally buy some online.
5. IT HAS FLOWERS.
(Imagine a "the more you know!" meme here.)

I love this idea! What about Tetris? I remember spending hours on my Tandy 1000 in the mid-80s, working the arrow keys on the keyboard until I was dreaming in Tetris games.

My internet provider is having an outage because of the snow, so I'm using my data for no really good reason other than to say:
When I was in 7th grade (1986?), my English class did a module on poetry, where I first read Robert Frost. The teacher had a (vinyl!) recording of him reading "Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening" and I was surprisingly affected listening to him read it, to hear the rhythm in his voice. And I can't help but think about it now, as I look out into the snowy trees.

I've been so unplugged since the election, I just now found out.

Tony Todd is a fucking legend, an amazing actor on stage and screen. Truly, the world is poorer now.

We just watched SMILE and other than overuse of MIDSOMMAR's "keep the drone steady and flip the cam 180"* it was really good! I'm looking forward to SMILE 2.
*We get it, we're moving into shit getting weird, but shit never got UNweird, why are you doing this over and over unless you're worried someone will accuse you of copying MIDSOMMAR. (To be fair, the first time I ever saw that was in MDSOMMAR, so if it was used somewhere else first, pls lmk.)

We watched IDLE HANDS (1999) last night -- a rewatch for me that might as well have been a 1st watch since I only saw it 25 yrs ago.
I have to say that it has held up really well given when it was made. The trademark 2000s awfulness-as-humor is minimal (only one joke jumped out at me), so it's mostly just the usual "tits for no reason" and "let's keep our 18yo female lead nearly naked," which is still baked in to a lot of horror now.
Would mostly recommend!

I generally don't enjoy movies that are pure psychological horror because largely they are done incredibly poorly. However, last night, we watched IT'S WHAT'S INSIDE on Netflix and it's not exactly psychological horror, but it's also NOT not psychological horror?

We had such a lovely one here as well, but I was driving and couldn't get a picture of it as much as I really wanted to! It was beautifully maroon at the horizon and blended up into a dark, rusty peach, then a gold-green.

TFG just claimed that you can get an abortion in the 9th month. 🤦🏻
He called the Democrats radicals when it came to abortion. He claims that Wallz said that "abortion in the ninth month is absolutely fine."

First question: are Americans better off now than they were 4 years ago?
Literally neither if them is answering it. 🙄
Harris at least talked about her plan.
TFG has already gone into fear mongering mode.
