Forgive my ignorance but who did this #song? Is it a new #QAnon anthem? Interesting drop on eve day of #911 25th anniversary. I found it very well done. Perhaps #AI.

Too much risk with #BTC revealed. #Coldcard could signal bad actors playing a long hack game. #AI is showing everything #digital is vulnerable. #BIP-110 showed #bitcoin is software that will be changed and those changes are controlled by big corps (of miners, Saylor and Blackrock flavors). Bottom line is like a Piccaso painting only rich can apparently now safely secure. Worse they have no issue making paint modifications all the time to the original! And now data center power demands will cause more critical eyes on energy hogging POW protocols.
When I first started with bitcoin I stored my crypto on paper wallets with qr codes and legacy addresses. I rode bitcoin down the last crash and waited it out when it bottomed in mid teens back up towards new highs. This time there is a big difference. Most regular people and businesses have no interest in it. I come from a marketing background and this looks more like brand / tech rejection. Kind of like people losing interest for good.
I cashed out today at a small loss and surprisingly don't plan to return ever. Only thing I'd be interested in is a quantum secure peer to peer token that is exchange independent and accepted by my local grocery stores and fuel stations.
I can't see how bitcoin will be useful for anyone other than big international Wall Street entities. The libertarian/privacy/freedom tech communities need to come up with a better AI proof solution now.

Not with mine. Try this. Create a new user and go check what your default permissions are. Are nearby devices and sensors on for apps now? Check to see if apps are allowed use of background data. If so, turn them off for several apps. Then end session and go back in to see if your changes stuck. Look at your system apps for Bluetooth and see its default permissions. See if you can turn them off (location, etc). I couldn't. I can't do a lot if things I could before now. Let me know if after this your UX is the same as before.

They give default permissions for all apps which let them spy on you. All my apps had my settings overwritten and allowed sensors, background use of data, a number of system apps like Bluetooth you can't turn off location, nearby devices, access to your call logs and contacts, network access and SMS access. GrapheneOS is now like a Canadian / Five eyes spy device I paid for. 😤😤😱

What a difference 24 hours can make. Just tried to post a rant about the new #GrapheneOS and it did not stick. They seemed to have gone Canadian Carney Orwellian by letting all apps have access to your sensors by default for one. You have to waste hours turning off things for all your sandboxes users and it seems they go back to default when you end a session (app allow background use of data for one). I'm done. Not worth wasting my life on tech changes anymore. Just paying for an electronic prison of us all for the control freaks. Can't even have #privacy in your bedroom anymore with a #smartphone anymore.

Not anymore. New grapheneOS went Orwellian with new upgrade. Just realized. 😭

I finally convinced my wife to let me #de-Google her phone and set her up with #GrapheneOS and #nostr. 🤗. It took time and baby steps: IPhone > #Android > GrapheneOS. 😎

Boomers had lots of children, but they sure had their share of self focus. As a whole they did not leave a great future for their children. Contrast that with the generation before them who went through wars and the depression. Hard times make better people and I think having a child gives you something really meaningful to fight for during the hard times.

So would you be thinking instead of using a client that supports UnifiedPush to receive notifications. In that case I presume the route is to download and install ntfy from F-droid, select Element (uses Matrix Protocol) or Conversations (XMPP protocol), and then use UnifiedPush as the method with choose ntfy from list of distributors?
Thoughts are appreciated as hardening my notifications is new to me. I've been using de-googled phones since 2020 but I was not aware that Google still got my notification flows.

Looking into things with lump, it seems that with a phone XMPP is an intermediary. Notifications are still routed through Apple (APN) or Google (FCM). Quote: "The difference with your own server is simply that you hold the API keys and control the routing logic - not that the path avoids Apple / Google." When asked it says same thing with Matrix. On the other hand it seems that this is not the case with GrapheneOS phones that don't run Google Play services sandboxes.
Again it seems like you have to take a college course to do this. Perhaps ntfy is an low brain expense alternative.

From lumo:
"According to the Minibits Wallet GitHub repository, the wallet supports real-time, encrypted push notifications for incoming payments, but this feature is currently limited to Android devices only and is delivered through Google's notification system (i.e., Firebase Cloud Messaging) when the app is installed from Google Play."
The digital I'd system will be very easy / convenient. 😤

Really? Never been easier? You need like a course to wade through all this. Go with Breez. Wait they are in maintenance mode now. Mutiny shut down. Blue not for lightning anymore. Oh, and this was after trying to learn how with great, but old and lengthy, BTC Sessions videos (hats off to Ben for at least trying to teach all this time and to Daniella for her trying now). For a true BTC libertarian type how many privacy minded, open source, and self-custody options are there now. Especially for the Google boycotters - many require Google Play & FCM for notifications. Zeus seems great but the average person is still not going to set up a server. I've been trying hard to find the right setup, but not there yet. Oh, and as you pointed out this past week, AI bots are taking over and zapping for you and others? So who are we tipping? A person or a bot? Not good.
You, Walker, etc are doing great work and are appreciated. But when you rant and complain about zaps I gotta rant back about why it really isn't as easy as you suggest. For real techies maybe. Not mainstream though. Most of the Gen Z and Millenials I know and not interested in putiing the time into the learning curve especially when wallets come and go or get raided still. Sorry I just wasted a week trying to set things up, but in vain.

Saw a lot more than #npub / public key. Seems like I broke a #nostr taboo asking this question. Little feedback. Another guy's helpful reply disappeared and the few followers I had all dropped me. Seems like I just got cancelled for asking this question.😶
I first joined nostr over three years ago and mainly just shadow followed things. But I never got comfortable with the whole zapping things so drifted away. Recently I noticed a lot of exciting developments with nostr so decided to go all in. Huge learning curve with updates. But I finally got to the point of linking a coinos account when I noticed the primal npub login. This prompted my question here.
Guess I might as well delete my coinos and drift away again. Tough community. 😕

Yes but are your messages supposed to be public? I missed a part in prior message. Path was: Get Started > Advanced login options > Npub Login. I could also see the relays used, try to edit profile ( though I did not try see if anything would stick), etc. Lot more than with regular view. 😲

2026-06-25 14:50:34 UTC

## ⚠️ What the heck? 🚧
Can someone explain to me how a person can login into #nostr #primal desktop using anyone's #npub and see private information - like list of messages? I may be missing something, but I was surprised by what I could see when I logged in using just my npub and afterwards the npub of another nostr personality. 😯
It is stated there to be read only, but to me this raises at least serious privacy issues. Just by going to primal.net > Get Started > Npub login. 🙈 What do I know though. Just a #noob to all the new nostr updates. This alarmed me.

I was a bit disappointed by Friday's reaction to Canada's new laws (C-22). Sounded like those who complained about the covid vaccines but got them anyway. Where's the trucker protest spirit? Be creative with push back ideas like Ben's Very Positive News (1st three letter hint 😉) in a prior episode.
Personally I think young Canadian Gen Z'ers to be banned should start a tik took pledge to get pregnant and collect Child Tax Benefits while living at home till their 30. That will put a fire under all those sleeping Canadian parents. 😂. Carney just might gift all kids free cells with all their favorite social media apps pre-installed just to quell the political blow back. 🤗

How long did you want your articles to be? Were you hoping to have imbedded graphics? If the latter, then I think you need to link to it. I found the input field on my client to be surprisingly long. I am not sure what the total character limit is (please post if anyone knows) but I had good length on another account.
I too am moving a web site onto nostr so I am learning this as well. Ideally one could embedd pdf like documents to your account. I think having your own server like Ben would the way. It would help expand the ecosystem. To me having an app that let's a cell phone be a online server for self storage of your files would be an interesting option. If one sees a file on your nostr page they can click to download from you. Not your server not your data. 😉 Maybe a mesh system to reduce data costs. Or a sats paywall to help cover data costs.
A future video for BTC / Sovereign Sessions! 🤗

Thanks for the reply. Regarding NIP-05 I don't want to get a domain as it will reveal personal info. I set up whitenoise today (pakko@...) For messaging. Once I got my nostr and white noise working I will set up a lightning wallet and start zapping. That has been the scary part for me but newer apps are making it easier. I'm old so one thing at a time.

2026-06-15 00:03:34 UTC

Can someone message me at pakko@whitenoise.chat so I can confirm that I at least got my #nostr client and #Whitenoise app set up okay. Perhaps a reply or something to this as well. Then I can work on integrating lightning and the #nostrvpn. Bear with me I'm old.

Great. Brainless guy. All #Iran has to do is claim Americans must have cracked #BTC with #quantum computers and they will spark a sell run on #bitcoin. Perhaps crash it. Blackrock and Saylor must be shaking their heads. The average guy is already commenting everywhere that all crypto including bitcoin is no longer secure. I don't know how he can walk this back.
