Sir Double T

I see the Bitcoin Amsterdam conference is happening soon. Is there a #nostrdam meetup happening around it? I’d make the trek into the city for a Nostr meetup.

I usually have a cup in the morning for the past 10 years, but every once in a while I dislike the thought that I need it otherwise I’ll get a headache in the evening. Then it’s time to cut it out for a while, I usually drink green tea for a couple mornings and I’m free. I don’t notice much difference, and I enjoy the ritual so I’ll start again after a few weeks.

Last year, on the last day of “unschool”, the kids were digging in the ground searching for treasure, as adventurous humans do.
When they found something hard and metallic. They went at it with sticks and rocks, probably 80% of the kids were working on it over a few hours until they did get it out and brought it to the kitchen.
At which point it was identified as a WWII era explosive.
It was later decommissioned at the military base.
Life comes at you fast.

“A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world's greatest civilizations has been 200 years. These nations have progressed through this sequence: From bondage to spiritual faith; From spiritual faith to great courage; From courage to liberty; From liberty to abundance; From abundance to selfishness; From selfishness to apathy; From apathy to dependence; From dependence back into bondage.”
