🧌 Mostro v2.1.2 is out! 🤩
🪙 Stablecoins arrive in the app. Payment methods now show the network, and each trade names the network and the transaction ID.
💵 You can now pay with DOC from @nprofile…dyjk
₿ Bitcoin on other networks joins the catalogue: BTC on-chain, Liquid LBTC and Rootstock RBTC, with amounts shown and entered in sats. Available on nodes that enable these currencies.
🧮 Fiat to sats conversion now matches what the node does, and on-chain BTC stays quoted at the peg.
Thanks @nprofile…7v6q 🙌

🧌 Mostro Node v0.20.2 is out!
🪙 Pegged currencies: nodes can now opt in to quote stablecoins ($USDT, $USDC, $DOC) 1:1 to $USD, and bitcoin on other networks (BTC on-chain, Liquid $LBTC and Rootstock $RBTC) 1:1 in sats.
🧮 Order limits are now checked including the premium, and fiat to sats conversions round to the nearest sat.
⚠️ Node operators: read the release notes before you upgrade. Depending on your setup, there are settings to check first, and some of them can stop a node from starting. Upgrade when the order book is quiet.

⭐ Reputation import and export are clearer. Before you import, the app tells you the source of the reputation. Export errors no longer read as an invalid paste, and the import screen is more reliable when a node takes a while to answer.
📢 Project announcements now show up in the app's notifications, with a toggle to turn them on or off.
🔀 From a trade's notification card you can switch straight to the node where that trade lives.
🔧 Smoother node switching and fixes across orders and reputation screens.

🐕 Serbero is the assistant that backs up the dispute team on Mostro 🧌
This is what it does when a dispute opens:
🔔 Detects it and notifies your solvers, with reminders until one takes the case
💬 If the node admin enables mediation, it can talk with both parties to find out what happened with the payment and help them close the trade themselves
📋 When a case needs a person, it hands it to a solver with a clear summary
The final call always stays with a human solver, and Serbero never moves funds. It's an optional tool for node admins.

🧌 Mostro Node v0.20.1 is out!
⭐ Reputation export: your reputation can now be exported from a Mostro node, so it moves with you from one Mostro to another. It builds on the import that arrived in v0.20.0.
🩺 Fewer false alarms in node health checks: relay, payout and LND sync warnings now wait longer before firing.
🧾 The payouts check now ignores a single bad invoice or stale orders.
📚 New operator guide for reputation in the docs.
Update recommended for node operators.

Directly to the seller, with whatever method you both agree on: bank transfer, cash, a mobile payment app 🧌
While you pay, the seller's sats stay locked in their own wallet through a Lightning hold invoice. Once they confirm your fiat arrived, the sats settle to you ⚡
If something goes wrong, either side can open a dispute.

🚦🧌 Semáforo is live: the public status page for all Mostro nodes available to operate, including the Mostro Nodes of the Community Program.
One look shows how each one is doing: green, yellow or red, with its track record building up over time.
How it works:
⚡ Every monitored node publishes a signed health event on Nostr, every minute by default. It covers its Lightning node, payouts, relays and database.
🔍 Your browser reads those events straight from the relays and verifies every signature itself. No backend, no tracking.
⛓️ Block height is also compared with public block explorers. A node that falls behind turns red.
A node that stops reporting turns red, never green.
One clarification: green means the node reports itself healthy and passes the independent checks. It is not a guarantee that a trade will succeed.

Mostro 🧌 is P2P, so it supports any currency and payment method as long as there's a counterparty willing to trade.
Each node decides which fiat currencies to enable, so check that yours supports the one you need before you trade. Don't see your currency? You can reach out to the admin of an unrestricted node, or run your own node with the Community Program.

• Disputes Management: plain Up/Down select disputes again (#218)
• Chat copy mode: Ctrl+C highlights one message; Shift+↑↓ extends the range; Range keycap shows correctly (#219)

🧌🕹️ Mostrix v0.3.6 is out!
The Mostro TUI client just got a solid upgrade from 0.3.5: privacy, chat UX, reputation, and solver tooling.
🕶️ Full-privacy trades: opt into full privacy when creating or taking orders. Follow-up trade DMs honor it too, for better unlinkability on sensitive trades.
⭐ Your reputation on the status bar: see your own rating live. It refreshes at startup and after trades, so you always know how the network sees you.
📋 Copy chat messages: select a range in My Trades, Disputes, Observer, and solver DMs, then copy. Optional OSC 52 fallback for SSH and remote terminals.
⌨️ Contextual command bars: keycap-style hints on My Trades, Disputes, and Observer, plus Ctrl+K Actions for dispute and Observer workflows. Built to stay usable even on small terminals (like 60x15).
🔔 Solver Telegram alerts: dispute solvers can get notified via mostro-watchdog when something needs attention.

🧌 Meet Serbero: our new AI dispute assistant, live on Mostro starting today!
🐺 What it is
Serbero gets every dispute to your solvers fast, DMing them the moment one opens. It can also talk to both parties to find out what happened with the payment, helping them close the trade themselves when the facts are clear. Anything unclear or contested goes straight to a human solver with the full chat for context.
🔒 What it will never do
❌ Move funds, it's read-only, Mostro rejects any fund action it tries to send.
❌ Decide a dispute, it reports claims, never verdicts. A human solver always has the final word.
❌ Send generated text to a person, parties get human-written templates, solvers get the real conversation.
🌎 Starts in English by default, and automatically switches to Spanish or Portuguese once a party writes in one of them. Piloting with these 3 languages for now, more coming.
🧌 If Serbero ever goes down, Mostro and your solvers keep working exactly as before.

A Mostro 🧌 node doesn't need to serve the whole world to matter.
It just needs to serve the people around it, same language, same currency, same payment habits. That's what makes P2P trading actually usable for people who'd never touch a global exchange.
Small and local can be exactly the right size.

Are your trades on Mostro 🧌 actually private? Yes.
All communication is end-to-end encrypted, with different keys for every operation so your exchanges can't be linked to each other. You can even trade in an advanced privacy mode where not even the node you're using can tell which operations are yours.
Node operators never get access to any personal information either way. + Info: https://mostro.network/

Every step of a Mostro 🧌 trade runs against the clock, and each node sets its own times.
On the node currently active on mainnet, an order sits in the book for 23 hours before it expires if nobody takes it. Once taken, whoever goes first (invoice or hold invoice) has 15 minutes, miss it and the order reposts. The counterparty then has their own 15 minutes, miss that and it cancels instead.
Use instant payment methods, since once the hold invoice expires, Mostro can't step in anymore. + Info: https://mostro.network/

🧌 Mostro Node v0.19.1 is out!
🤖 Serbero, Mostro's AI dispute assistant, is now registered and announced by the node. It helps guide users through a dispute and can flag the case to the solver, but the resolution is always made by a human.
🛡️ Fixes around bond invoice handling, hold invoices, and dispute writes, tightening how funds and disputes are tracked internally.
Update recommended for node operators.

🧌 Serbero v0.2.0 is out!
🏗️ This release lays the groundwork for assisted mediation in disputes: chat transport, a provider-neutral judge contract, and multilingual message catalogs (EN/ES/PT).
⚠️ Mediation itself is still off, this is infrastructure work. Nothing changes for users yet, but the pieces are coming together.

Mostro 🧌 doesn't set one fee for everyone, each node does.
Every node decides its own trading fee and order limits, and you can check both from your client before you trade. No surprise charges buried in fine print, just a rate you see up front.
Compare a couple of nodes before your next trade, you might find a better deal.

A hold invoice is the reason Mostro 🧌 can run escrow without ever touching your sats.
When you sell, your sats lock in your own wallet through this invoice, visible but untouchable, until the trade actually completes. If something goes wrong, they return to you automatically. If it goes right, they release the moment you confirm.
No custodian holding funds in between, just Lightning doing exactly what it was built to do.

⚠️ 🧌 Mostro Node v0.19.0 is out, this one is important.
🚨 Protocol v1 (gift-wrap) is removed. If your client is on an old version, update it now, orders and chat need protocol v2 (NIP-44) to work with this node.
✅ Makers can now cancel before paying the bond.
✅ Disputes close automatically on a cooperative cancel or when the seller releases.
✅ Restoring a session now also returns your counterparty's trade pubkey.
⏱️ Bond invoices now expire on time, and makers get a clear deadline to pay theirs.

Just a Lightning wallet. You don't need to already understand Nostr, most clients generate a new private key for you automatically every time you trade, no manual setup required, and those keys are yours alone the whole time.
That's it. Pick a client and you're ready to trade P2P.

A trade on Mostro 🧌 runs on clear timers, not vibes.
If nobody takes your order within 24 hours, it expires. Once someone does, the buyer has 15 minutes to send an invoice, then the seller has 15 minutes to pay the hold invoice, miss either window and the order gets canceled. At the end, buyer and seller rate each other, building the reputation you carry into your next trade.
Structure, without a company running it.

🚀 Mostrix v0.3.2 is out! 🚀
—
A focused maintenance release with important fixes for bond-gated trades, invoices, and account privacy. Update recommended for everyone. ⚡️🟣
—
🐛 What's fixed
🛡️ Bond-gated maker listings stay visible — maker orders waiting on the anti-abuse bond no longer disappear from the Order Chat sidebar. After a session restore they stay selectable, so you can always pay the bond or cancel. (#150)
—
💸 Correct AddInvoice amount after taker bond — the buyer's invoice now uses the actual trade sats, fixing wrong amounts. (#175)
—
🔍 Fee preflight on fixed-price take-sell — Mostro fee is checked before sending, avoiding failed sends.
—
🔑 Stronger privacy — account-scoped requests now use an ephemeral key instead of your identity key. (#173)

The chat between buyer and seller on Mostro 🧌 runs client to client, end-to-end encrypted, using a shared key both sides generate together through ECDH cryptography.
That key is known only to the two of you, not even the Mostro node can read the conversation. Every new trade generates a new key, so privacy holds even if you trade with the same person again.
If a dispute opens, either side can choose to share that key with the mediator, who can then decrypt just that one conversation as evidence, nothing more.

🧌 Mostro Node v0.18.7 is out!
🛡️ New payout safety rails: in-flight payouts are now capped per destination and node-wide, so one destination can't tie up the whole node's liquidity.
⏱️ Payout routes now bound their total timelock, not just the last hop, and user payout invoices are capped at 144 blocks instead of 432 — funds stay locked for less time.
🛠️ Operators can cancel pre-trade orders through the CancelOrder gRPC, with a new pretrade_only flag so a cancel never falls through into a dispute cancel by mistake.
🔧 Maintenance mode follow-ups: drain counters now count only in-flight payments, so draining a node actually finishes instead of waiting on already-settled orders.
🐛 Also fixed: admin cancel no longer trips on hold invoices LND already canceled, and the info event now advertises the correct hold window.
