Cool. What a shame that’ll never be restored.

Harper laid the foundation for Poilievre brick by brick, so it’s fascinating to see him canonized as a patron saint of a better party. That said, though, PP’s behaviour and toxic approach need to be called out by more people within conservative ranks, so I’m glad to see this.

Cool.
I don’t know why they waste time on junk like this. This earns them no brownie points with the people who accuse them of a left-wing bias, which always seems to be what they’re most terrified of.

The division between the clear sky and the aurora along that space between the trees is just perfect! Such a good shot.

How that bluff served any purpose escapes me. You don’t make threats and then capitulate a second later and come out of it looking like you have any legitimate power. You just prove that you ultimately have no teeth.

My favourite soap comes from a small Canadian company that uses Shopify. Likewise, I emailed them this morning to ask that they consider alternatives. It’s not an easy thing for a small company to shift to a new store, deal with all of the financial tie-ins and fee differences, etc. I won’t boycott them if they don’t given all of that, but at least it’s a nudge from a regular customer about the shadiness of Shopify if they weren’t aware from recent news.

It seems to me that the more rational perspective is for Canada to form strong relationships with countries that are also fed up with dealing with a highly irrational trading partner like the United States. Why kowtow to the playground bully when the other kids can instead just do their own thing? It’s not an immediate thing to be sure, but if there’s one thing that’s clear—seeing the States as holding the strongest hand here is just a choice. Isolate them.

Reminds me of the time my ex and I were looking at cars and she asked a sales guy in one dealership what safety features one of the cars had and he looked at her blankly and said: “It has them.”

Ah well. A wave of change in Saskatchewan didn’t seem too likely. Still, the dream was nice.

And yet, the polling numbers we’ve seen so far show us electing a PM we don’t want. This timeline is the best.
