i think elon is building the short burst flying car powered by compressed air for mars and not for earth. since it's not practical to build roads there, we might as well just bypass them. also much easier to operate this tech on mars compared to earth given the difference in gravity. he has solar panels, optimus and now a flying vehicle and starship to take us there. no one knows how many times earth and civilization have restarted due to external factors like asteroids and we don't know when the next event is gonna happen. i think this is our only chance to protect humanity for now. hope ai helps us expedite the process.

$btc doesn't care what chamath thinks today or what jamie dimon and buffett thought 10 yrs ago. it's a fixed-supply asset. as long as fiat exists and global money supply grows, it'll go up forever. let's revisit this note 5 yrs from now.

2026-10-21 15:43:41 UTC

non-tech people are already modifying their tvs without writing a single line of code. next they'll question why they should give up their privacy and freedom to centralized platforms when decentralization lets them own their identity. they're coming.

my view is that inference will eventually (probably quickly within the next 3 yrs or so) move from centralized data centers to local devices as chips become more powerful and models become smaller and more efficient, your phone, laptop or desktop will be able to run increasingly capable ai without relying on models from openai, claude, etc..

it's gonna be a bumpy q4 for bitcoin and equities in general. equities had a great run through the first three Qs and now risk managers are gonna start protecting those gains. if you can lock in 10%+, that’s a phenomenal year for a lot of asset managers and plus they’d like to keep their 2hr/day jobs. then you’ve got the midterms coming up. the us/iran situation still nowhere near settled and oil is telling you the most honest story on that front.

the biggest productivity bottleneck right now isn’t a better ai model. it’s laptop battery life. a laptop that lasts a week, (or even 3-4 days) while running agents continuously in the background would probably have 10x more impact on gdp than the next marginal jump in model intelligence.

2026-09-05 18:16:56 UTC

i thought zcash was the biggest scam in crypto, but this bip110 token might have even more potential.

2026-09-05 17:56:51 UTC

bip110 marketing department already started sharing price charts of the hard fork. wonder when we’re getting our airdrops? are they also planning to honor saylor’s stack so he can tank this thing into the absolute bottom, or are they just going to hijack existing bitcoin holders’ coins and selectively decide whose balances count?

#nevent1q…wdmr

2026-09-01 15:11:01 UTC

the core principle of decentralization is giving everyone an equal amount of freedom. i’m still debating myself whether spammers and ai bots deserve that same freedom. to be perfectly honest, im not sure yet and im not ashamed to admit it.

2026-08-27 23:19:13 UTC

so the problem isn’t really propagation in the traditional sense. it’s retrieval and reconciliation across partially overlapping relay graphs. if clients don’t aggressively process and recover events across relays, ux becomes inconsistent very quickly. nostr can be decentralized underneath but clients still have to make that complexity disappear. if they can't, nostr goes nowhere. its every client's problem and it's a biggy.

in probably 15-20 yrs, instead of the biggest divisions being politics or even religion, there may really be just two camps: those who want to enhance and redesign the human body and those who want to preserve it. politicians, leaders, movements, even entire cultures could eventually organize themselves around that single question: how far should we be willing to change what it means to be human.

2026-08-03 14:59:15 UTC

i hate saying this but bitcoin’s current self custody mechanics are probably the biggest reason of slow adoption. not because bitcoin’s architecture is fundamentally too complex for self custody but because we as devs have done a pretty lousy job improving the ux for regular users. If securing your money is that hard, people simply won’t take the risk.

imo thats still assuming that the implementation preserves the exact entropy all the way through the bip39/bip32 pipeline without modification or substitution. this is extremely rare but still a possibility mathematically.

2026-08-03 13:34:03 UTC

say you rolled the dice 256 times, got the bits and entered them into a hardware wallet. what makes you think the firmware is actually going to respect those bits and generate the key from that exact entropy? if there’s a bug there too, it could just ignore your input and generate its own entropy instead. if you self custody, keep this in mind and don’t rely on a single key, even if you rolled your own dice.

2026-08-02 12:54:02 UTC

i’ve come to the understanding that anything touching bitcoin has to stay open source, even commercial products built by third-party vendors. if it’s closed source and handles sensitive data, don’t touch it.

2026-07-31 18:36:56 UTC

multi-sig, multi vendor, multi fucking dice manufacturer, whatever it takes, we’re gonna win.

2026-07-31 02:21:19 UTC

if you’re planning to self custody your bitcoin, roll that fucking dice and don’t outsource your entropy.

2026-07-13 23:00:06 UTC

bip110 is going to fail probably pretty quickly with a chain split. knots had a real chance to add client diversity and actually fight spam but that chance is fading too. that said let’s not pretend core didn’t play a big part in creating this mess either.

money supply grows 8–9% a year. the s&p 500 goes up 8–9% a year on avg.

2026-06-29 16:12:03 UTC

the ugly truth is that the 4 yr cycle was created and practiced by the ogs. they tend to think together and act together.
this time though their usual playbook didn’t work. their avg distribution was probably around 80–85k. (yes they sell and buy gradually not all at once). they were likely expecting to buy back much lower somewhere around 20-25k.
that didn’t happen thanks to a much stronger base of long term individual bitcoiners, plus relentless buying from saylor and a growing number of public companies.
of course they’re not happy. thats also why you see so much coordinated hostility toward saylor. he’s disrupting the cycle they’ve benefited from for years.

2026-02-16 00:44:40 UTC

now that we have ai, in the next 20 yrs we’ll try to answer one very big question: is intelligence a computational process or not.

2026-02-09 01:26:00 UTC

the prevailing discourse around bitcoin’s future demand centers on a familiar cast of actors. nation states building strategic reserves, sovereign wealth funds diversifying away from fiat exposure, and corporations adopting it as a treasury asset. these are all human institutions operating within human timeframes subject to human politics.
but there’s a far more profound demand shock that almost no one is discussing: autonomous ai as an economic agent accumulating btc.
ai’s rapidly moving from tools that humans direct to agents that transact independently. negotiating, purchasing, allocating capital and optimizing for objectives with minimal human oversight. these systems will need a settlement layer that is permissionless, censorship resistant, programmable, and not subject to the counterparty risk of any single government or banking system. they won’t open chase accounts. they won’t submit kyc documents. they’ll gravitate toward the only truly neutral, global, natively digital monetary network that exists.
bitcoin isn’t just sound money for humans. it may be the only money that makes sense for machines.
every prior model of btc adoption assumes a human decision maker somewhere in the loop. a treasury committee, a central bank governor, a fund manager, a big family office, etc... but ai agents optimizing for long term value preservation will arrive at bitcoin through pure economic rationality unburdened by political ideology, institutional inertia or career risk. they won’t need to be convinced. they’ll simply calculate.
unlike a sovereign wealth fund that allocates 2% and revisits the position quarterly, an ai system operating continuously across global markets could accumulate relentlessly around the clock with a time preference approaching zero. not as a speculation but as a logical necessity for self sovereign operation in a digital economy.
the question isn’t whether ai will accumulate btc. the question is what happens to a fixed supply asset when a new class of demand emerges that is non-human, never sleeps, and compounds its own economic agency exponentially.
everyone is modeling the next buyers as institutions. but almost no one is modeling the possibility that the most aggressive accumulators won’t be human at all.
