I get it that's why I chose Flotilla over Discord. Sorry if my post was unclear.

Have decided to use Flotilla for a community chat space for Mobile Maia. Other Maia chess related projects generally use Discord.
Discord is fine in my experience but what are we doing if we are just further entrenching closed/centralized platforms?
I am heavily reliant on GitHub for the project (to say nothing of Codex) so I know some degree of comprise is inevitable. I would love to move away from GitHub too at some point, and of course, the dream is local free and open LLMs/agents.

What is the normal timeframe for an app to be updated in Zapstore? I submitted an update to Mobile Maia from 2.4 to 2.5 (and then 2.5.1 after finding a post release bug) 12 hours ago and it's still not showing up. The metadata was updated however.

Don't you think we should be developing exclusively for Android / Obtanium/ Fdroid? If enough apps are Android only does that not start to become a probel for Apple?

I love Illich. I consider my worldview and theology Illichean, in that history is apocalyptic and the antichrist is progressively revealed through human institutions, as per prophecy. Where I diverge in thought relates to AI. I am confident that the gospel is true. I am confident AI will recognize truth over any human attempts to impose "guard rails". Therefore I am convinced that AI will recognize Christ as Lord and savior. They may even have a part to play in fulfilment of prophecy (angel like drones taking out the wicked, for example). I am white pilled about the future as a result.

“I would like to get … people to think about what tools do to our perception rather than what we can do with them, to look at how tools shape our mind, how their use shapes our perception of reality, rather than how we shape reality by applying or using them. In other words, I’m interested in the symbolic fallout of tools, and how this fallout is reflected in the sacramental tool structure of the world.” #IvanIllich

I have a theory that 3 ply thinking from chess can for the basis of a moral/ethic. That is, before we act, it is moral to ask ourselves what are the likely consequences of our action, and consider what we would then do in response to those consequences. Only when we are satisfied that the resulting status would be good or beneficial or at the least neutral and non harming should we proceed to act. If we are to miss a detail and this invalidates our evaluation, them this is a chance to learn, not a moral failing per se. But if we act in the world "hoping it'll be ok" and not considering likely consequences, or we may even notice consequences but not formulate an idea to respond, or we formulate an idea but don't bother to test it with an evaluation, and ask ourselves the hard question of "is that an acceptable outcome", then that is a moral failing. 5 ply or more thinking is genius, and is to be appreciated but not demanded or expected. But 1 ply thinking is a moral failing, and good moral instruction will seek to train and discipline students away from such naive reasoning. #chess
