When I announced & explained what it was, ppl boosted & popped up to voice their support, even visited the old Qs & commented!! :partyparrot:
Organic fun stuff still needs a little organization & persistence, I think. I was a reddit moderator for yrs starting around 2010 & organizing fun stuff actually attracted ppl to the platform just so they could participate.
Best example for masto: #Monsterdon - has been going for yrs & hosted nowhere else.

horrifying
Why does "books" feel like "people's brains" ??? I see tech bros planning on selling immortality by claiming our bodies are just "delivery mechanisms for information" & some Isaac Asimov end to humanity

there's a lot of tech & doomerism in my feed, which I don't begrudge. But I try to add memes & boost humor, photography, art. I love talking abt fandom & pop culture so I started #FDQ (fandom discussion questions) - hoping to drum up the opportunity for more regular chats btwn fans & pop culture junkies.

during my library's staff development day this year, we had a speaker asking us what our job titles would be if we could make them from scratch. For all the drop-in, scheduled, and outreach tech 1:1s work we do, "tech therapist" immediately came to mind lol

#Call4Artists #DigitalArtists Would anyone be willing to develop and create an avatar/logo for me? No AI, obviously. My budget is $75 via Paypal. This would be great for anyone who enjoys making #cyberpunk & #solarpunk art.
I think the process is to DM me with some work you've done & I'll let you know my concept to see if you'd like to do it? Also I promise I won't ghost you ❌👻
First time soliciting custom digital art so if I've missed a step, please let me know! Cheers 💛 #PleaseBoost

Now that #GoodOmens is over, I'm kinda sad and not vibing Aziraphale anymore. Gotta find a different banner...
Watching #TheBoys now. Apparently I stopped watching after the ep where Hughie pretended to be a gross spider-man & attend the rich ppl/sex dungeon party (that ep playing those scenes for comedy was off-point, and the season as a whole hadn't been impressing me so I fell away from it).
Abt to hit play on the S4 finale 👀

/big deep breath/ the future of libraries is hosting digital communities on their servers via protocols like Activitypub, and finally ppl with Internet access will be able to experience some type of social media without fear of privacy or security concerns that they would have with a SM platform from a corporation that gets away with data mining and compromising privacy & security all the time bc it just pays the fees and continues
