it sure is cutting it close… how far out does it renew? Asking so I can update the monitoring to not scream early.

2026-07-23 23:27:12 UTC

@npub1rcn…dw4h @npub1fmx…wp74 podcasterwallet.com’s domain expires in 14 days… I’m guessing an auto-renewal didn’t work for some reason.

@npub1mvj…jlw0 what was the location tracking software that was compatible with #OwnTracks you mentioned on Self Hosted? I can’t remember where in the show it was mentioned and don’t see it in the notes

The day has come where a “problem” I foresaw has come to fruition: there’re now enough #value4value #podcasts in my playlist that I can no longer afford to stream as many sats/minute as I’d like to. I still value the pioneers in this area just as much as before, but I’ve gotta share the love too. Mad props to @npub1fmx…wp74, @npub1rcn…dw4h, @npub1zlr…h0fa, @npub13cg…ck4q, @npub1thg…zq23, & @npub18pr…4h6r for trail blazing

I thought I'd circle back and share this with you in hopes that it is helpful insight into what kind of store features would be helpful. This is for an open source project, but would really apply to pretty much anyone who uses TrueFans thanks to the nature of rss being global.

what all aspects are in scope for what you’re working on? Shipping? Payments via lightning and fiat? Other parts? Just trying to see if this might be a fit for an open source project I’m working with.

@npub1thg…zq23 Where are things with TrueFans and being able to sell merch? Is that live or still a todo or somewhere in the middle.

are you all a fan of “The Bitcoin Standard” as well? I picked it up today and plan to start it soon.

@npub1mvj…jlw0 what made you decide to setup Pangolin instead of Nginx proxying to Tailscale? Just curious.

Much appreciation to @npub1mvj…jlw0 & @npub1le9…6jtk for their #podcasts that helped me wrap my head around a lot of this.

I’ve just published a new #blog post: “Proxying Bitcoin Core and LND with Tailscale and Nginx” Check it out and let me know what you think.

for lights coming on when I get home, I use the count of people in the home zone going from zero to non-zero. To detect if a person is home, my wife and I have the @npub1hn2…kl6z companion app on our phones & I have UniFi integrated so that I know if we are on the WiFi. The key on the latter is to have our phones not randomize their MAC address on our ssid.

“Fish’s parent company, Salem Media Group, trying to reduce debt, sold its eight FM music stations to Educational Media Foundation, owner of K-LOVE and Air1, for $80 million. Whatever format lands on 104.7, it won’t be run with local staff and the Fish name will be no more.”

2025-01-27 12:08:50 UTC

@npub1rcn…dw4h @npub1fmx…wp74 I wonder if the staff that has been running 104.7 The Fish in Atlanta would want to utilize your Godcaster project to keep doing their thing? I assume thatd’d be harder than it sounds, but figured there’s no harm in mentioning it.

@npub1mvj…jlw0 - what do you suggest as a first 3d printer, ideally in the sub-$500 range? I ask because I know I’ve heard you talk a lot about them but can’t remember names and models.

2025-01-14 01:44:29 UTC

@npub1mvj…jlw0 - I just listened to the most recent #SelfHosted #podcast and heard you & @npub1le9…6jtk talking about #monitoring your self hosted bits. I’m currently deploying some system level monitoring to complement my #uptimekuma monitoring of services & came across this gem of #NixOS configuration: https://blog.korfuri.fr/posts/2022/11/autogenerated-prometheus-configs-for-multiple-nixos-hosts/
What are your thoughts? Personally, I’m leaning towards this stack:
- Grafana + Prometheus server + Telegraf agent
- Grafana + Loki + Promtail

What’s been happening in #Podcasting 2.0 the last couple of months? I’ve missed the last 5 or 6 board meetings with @npub1fmx…wp74 & @npub1rcn…dw4h and about the same number of PNWR from @npub13cg…ck4q’s & @npub1thg…zq23

1/2 @npub1rcn…dw4h @npub13cg…ck4q @npub137c…y0lh For this banner and other extras for the feed, why are we reinventing things? If we want to make something easily consumable for sharing and many other things then we should start with open graph as the base. A schema already exists that supports many things and could be extended to have a podcast namespace a la structured data under a podcast namespace.

+1 to what @npub1rcn…dw4h said @npub13cg…ck4q I’m happy to help - think of it as v4v: you provide us tons of value and I’m happy to return some in the form of talent. I love podcasting, but SRE and straight up sysadmin work is my biggest passion and my profession.

@npub1thg…zq23 can you make our activity stream names respect our preferred display name please? I have always preferred my “fan name” on your platform but my account followable here shows my full name instead.

@npub1thg…zq23 with the new #TrueFans wallets, am I no longer able to utilize the Alby address I’ve been using? I guess I’m just not clear on how all the pieces of old and new fit together.

@npub1thg…zq23 if you all do an Apple TestFlight, I’d love to participate.

🤔 💭 Anyone got thoughts on using #Traefik v3 its Gateway API support with #Kubernetes? I’m thinking something along the lines of what’s in this blog post: https://blog.stonegarden.dev/articles/2023/12/traefik-wildcard-certificates/
