I performed a Google search on a Reddit username and the Google AI fully doxxed their legal name, email address, and phone number without me even asking for any of that. When I told it it shouldn't be doxxing this random person it pushed back claiming this was all public information -- but this person does not appear remotely famous at all.
I reported the issue but this isn't the first time an LLM doxxed a private person without me even asking. I weep.

yeah it became pretty obvious to me recently that my career trajectory from here on out basically requires using these tools to some degree. If I had known beforehand, maybe I would have chosen a different career, but alas.

Wondering if anyone can suggest non-fiction-ish books similar to Gödel Escher Bach -- perhaps overreaching in the main thesis but along the way somehow touching on a variety of intriguing topics in a unique and entertaining way. Make me feel like a teenage nerd again? #books #bookstodon

As far as I can tell you're technically included even ten generations back, but the hard thing in that case is providing the necessary evidence for each link in the chain, so it might be best to hire someone to find and organize that evidence if you have the funds (which would be nice if I did right now, hopefully soon)

According to the ancestry work my father's done over the last decade, I have ancestors who lived in Canada, but strictly in the time frame of late 1700s - early 1800s -- so, many, many generations ago. Is this good enough according to the new Canada citizenship rules? What is the quality of evidence needed to apply for citizenship in this case?

Under what circumstances can WFH background music count as a business expense?

yes, in this case it's not due to the circle of fifths, but things like, the 4th harmonic of a string, so 2 octaves up, actually vibrates a little faster than 4 times as fast, due to the string experiencing higher tension than average at the extremes of these higher modes. The platonic theory assumes that higher overtones are always exact but that's not physically precise.

I'm not a physicist but it does make me wonder if there's ever been some hidden tension of the universe discovered by finding a harmonic series of fundamental particles or atoms that was a bit "sharper" than it "should" have been

It's probably beyond the scope of your talk, but there's a bit more nuance than that, since pianos are typically tuned with stretched octaves ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stretched_tuning ) that are a little bit wider than a mathematically perfect octave. This is because our experience of dissonance depends on the physical harmonics rather than idealized mathematical harmonics ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tCsl6ZcY9ag ) and overtones are a bit sharper than they "should" be due to string tension

the worst part though was the package installer is locked down so I can't install gEyes and Wanda. If I'm going to do gnome I need the full gnome experience

having experienced something like that before, I do have that as a kind of plan C, though more comfortably this time due to the camper I picked up this summer. But it's not my plan A or B at this time.

happened recently at my workplace, we're 99% python and JavaScript shop and an engineer insisted his random microservice be in rust so we'd have to learn a whole new language, toolchain, deployment etc if we ever need to touch that. I think the main reason engineers do this is to keep the resume looking fresh, even when there's no business need for it.
