40p per week will make a noticeable difference for some households, but obviously not a lot. Some people are literally counting pence per week.

I have two v1 homepods in my living room, they're far better quality than the LG soundbar and subwoofer so I use them in preference already when watching TV. I'm sure you can get better quality in higher end kit though.

I heard surround sound if you’ve got HomePods.

The pizzas came out mostly great too. This one a Roast Garlic and Three Cheese.

First pop-up completed successfully! Took 59 dough balls to Marple Sports Club expecting to maybe sell 30, but sold out! Pretty exhausting but overall a great success.

that said, if the means of the conference are not enough to pay travel and/or accommodation than that’s fine, speakers will self select, you can’t magic money out of the air to pay for them.

yeah, I consider being paid to speak, and being paid for travel to be different things. Being paid for travel and accommodation would be a pretty low bar that small local user group+ style conferences would be ok with, but I’d expect larger national conferences to cover. Paying for speaking, as in a fee, that I’d not expect for any of the conferences I’ve attended.

I never understood the blanket “you must pay for speakers” thing. For a big corporate affair maybe, but for a grassroots community conference, I’d never consider being paid a requirement. To me Ruby conferences just feel like large user groups.

I have my first event! I realise this may be a bit far for most people here, but I’m pretty excited for it.

I had pepperoni left over and only one pizza to put it on, so I put it all on.

Can anyone recommend a designer? UK, US or Europe is fine. I need someone who can help with a logo for a pizza company, general branding that sort of thing, rather than web design.
