What if Pixar and Dr. Seuss wrote an orange-tinted story that never mentioned "the B word"?
You'd get The Orange Umbrella.

Hilarious to hear @npub1qny…95gx's incredulity on @npub10ut…xdlq over the name Wizard Sardine, followed by what was almost assuredly a mad dash to GoDaddy to see if the domain was still available.
The only thing Odell is longer on than Bitcoin is domain names.

The word "god" is a title. It is a role to be filled, and a non-negotiable role at that. There is a god in every system, whether that system is a sports team, a company, a nation, or a universe.
The only real question is who or what will occupy that role.
Whose will is sought? Who is above critique? To whom are costly sacrifices rendered? To whom do knees bow, and whose name do tongues praise? Who has their heart? Where do they run when they are afraid? Who do they love and trust? What is the source of their joy?
Answer those questions, and you will find the god of a system, whether they’re worthy of it or not.

“In Jesus Christ, there is no distance or separation between the medium and the message: it is the one case where we can say that the medium and the message are fully one and the same.” - Marshall McLuhan

“The continual voice which tells you that your best actions are secretly filled with subtle self-regard, and your best prayers still wholly egocentric—must for the most part be simply disregarded—as one disregards the impulse to keep on looking under the bandage to see whether the cut is healing. If you are always fidgeting with the bandage, it never will.
A text you should keep much in mind is I John iii, 20: “If our heart condemns us God is greater than our heart.” I sometimes pray “Lord give me no more and no less self-knowledge than I can at this moment make a good use of.
Remember He is the artist and you are only the picture. You can’t see it. So quietly submit to be painted–i.e. keep on fulfilling all the obvious duties of your station, asking forgiveness for each failure and then leaving it alone. You are in the right way. Walk—don’t keep on looking at it.”
—C.S. Lewis in a letter to a man struggling with “excessive selfness” (the man’s own words). Also called “morbid introspection” or perhaps even scrupulosity.

"Modern readers then move to application, instinctively interpreting this to mean that Jesus' words (in addition to its ancient meaning) require modern Christians to pay whatever taxes are levied upon them, regardless of how comprehensive. Rather than a specific way to fund and recognize the particular, legitimate, God-appointed-and-defined duties of magistrates, this and other tax-referencing passages in Scripture become chisels to carve away at the consciences and checking accounts of everyday people.
This is a textbook example of why James warned that not many should be teachers." https://open.substack.com/pub/economicsofglory/p/misrendering-jesus-part-1
