First come, first served. But if you've already claimed one or two, the difficulty will increase through a PoW mechanism.

You'll have to claim them yourself. We won't control when they're released or which ones become available. The entire process is automated and you won't know which Nostrich character you're getting until you've claimed it. Sort of like opening a mystery box.

Good thing is we're not releasing them all at once. We'll release them gradually over an extended period of time on a first-come, first-served basis. We're hoping this will bring new users to Nostr and that's one of the main reasons we want to try it. Might work, might not but we'll give it a try.

Nostrich will soon begin rolling out a collection of 21,000 NFTs as digital collectibles, released gradually in small batches at random times over an extended period.
Users will be able to claim them for free, display them on their profiles as badges, share them with anyone, and even buy or sell them directly through profile pages or on Nostrich Marketplace using #Bitcoin.
We're bringing a digital collectibles economy to Nostr, with more features to follow. All 21,000 NFTs will be released for free on a first-come, first-served basis.

Nostr is a public protocol, and all public data is freely accessible to anyone. You don't need a client to access it. Nostrich doesn't even operate a relay, which stores far more data than a client that simply serves as an interface to the protocol.
As for the source code, we've released it under the MIT license on GitHub. The code currently available powers all our applications, including Nostrich mobile apps and Nostrich Deck, since they're all built on the same web application and packaged using WebView. There are no separate native codebases. The only native components in our mobile apps are the bottom navigation and app menus, which we implemented natively for better performance and a smoother user experience.
It's entirely up to users whether to use our apps. There are plenty of alternatives, and that's the beauty and freedom that come with Nostr.

Google never holds any part of your private key. The key shares are stored on independent signing servers, and you can delete them at any time and switch to a traditional Nostr login. It's an onboarding mechanism that we believe has the potential to bring new users to Nostr.

For those who still don't know, even though it's disclosed on our website and in the App Store listings, Nostrich is operated by RHXO. It stands for Reserve Holdings Exclusively Orange, and we're a Bitcoin-native company. We're planning to pursue public quotation, subject to SEC and other applicable regulatory requirements.
We'll continue promoting decentralization, privacy, and open protocols. These are the principles behind everything we're building, and we want every Nostr user to be part of our long-term journey.
We can build a network of 3,000 active users and try to keep everyone happy, or we can bring millions of people into an open, decentralized protocol where they control their own keys, identity, and data, even if that means simplifying onboarding in ways that challenge the traditional Nostr experience. We're choosing the latter.

For those who are philosophically opposed to Google, Pomegranate can also support other identity providers, including phone numbers, email, a group of family members, or even no provider at all. We're starting with Google simply because it's widely used. Learn more about Pomegranate here.

🛡️🔐 GM, Nostr! Nostrich will soon support Google login, making it easier for people who have never used Nostr to get started with a single tap.
We're building it on Pomegranate, an open standard for Google login on Nostr. Your private key is managed using FROST threshold signatures, with key shares distributed across independent operators. Google never sees your private key, and Nostrich never stores it.
Under the hood, Google login uses a standard NIP-46 remote signer. This means if you sign in with Google on another Nostr app that supports Pomegranate, you can use the same Nostr identity on Nostrich, and vice versa.
The goal is simple: lower the barrier to entry without compromising decentralization. With this implementation, we're targeting people who have never used Nostr before.
All existing sign-in options will remain unchanged, and users signing in with Google will receive reminders about the importance of owning and backing up their private keys.

It’s a non-technical issue. Paid alternatives using LLMs are too costly when you’re processing an entire feed across multiple languages with auto-translation, while the free alternatives are pretty bad quality. We’ll probably build an LLM version soon where users can plug in their own API keys.

Nostrich never signs in to someone else's relay to deliver a DM, by choice, for privacy. It's a feature, not a bug.

2026-10-15 23:04:45 UTC

Some NIP-17 inbox relays refuse to accept a gift wrap (kind 1059) unless the sender first signs in with NIP-42 AUTH. Signing that kind 22242 sign-in event with your own key puts your pubkey on the same connection that delivers a wrap addressed to the recipient. The relay can then link sender to recipient, which is exactly the metadata gift wraps are designed to hide. That's a privacy invasion in our opinion, so Nostrich will never sign in to someone else's relay to deliver a DM.
What Nostrich does instead: every gift wrap is signed with a one-time random key and published to the recipient's DM relays (their kind 10050 list), with no sign-in. Nostrich only signs in to your own DM relays, to read the wraps addressed to you, which is the protection NIP-17 asks relays to provide. If none of the recipient's DM relays accept it, Nostrich tells you the message wasn't delivered. It's a privacy feature, not a bug.
