Core 30 isn’t a consensus change from 29 so why would there be a need to justify anything. Bip110 changes consensus and if you want to change consensus you should put some skin in the game or you are a coward who can be ignored.

The system is designed to have blocks of a certain size. The miners and node runners really have no business inspecting the data in the blocks beyond is this a consensus valid transaction and is the fee sufficient for me to accept. If you aren’t prepared to run a node under full bitcoinization which will certainly mean persistently full blocks you simply are not going to make it.

Mitch McConnell must have really hated Lindsay. Hasn’t said a peep about his death.

Losing 10% of the miners to a split doesn’t kill Bitcoin. It simply creates an alternative chain that will suffer from lack of interest, hash rate, and will likely continue changing to adapt to its failure to attract consensus.

It was never claimed to be an emergency. It also wasn’t a consensus change. You are free to run which ever relay policy for your node as you like. To pretend like changing a default setting is anywhere near the same thing as a consensus change is just another example in the long line of disingenuous fuckery we have seen from the pro 110 crew.

You are desperate for a hero to follow which is why you think attacks on specific people hurt Bitcoin. You don’t understand Bitcoin which is why you think luke jr is a reliable source of truth.

They simplified the code. The op return limit was being circumvented by direct to miner submission which is not good for bitcoin. They don’t want to have to keep adjusting the limits as bad novel forms of bad behavior appears on the network. Run knots if you want to filter your relay or set your own parameters with core. As long as the consensus says op return is valid at any size it’s better to have relays of all transactions propagate across the network.
