AD been struggling in SG. Loneliness and long hours.
I've been encouraging her to move to India. My second apartment been lying empty in Pune for a year.
Last week she finally agreed. She will spend a year here and hoof it down to SG when she has got work meetings.
While SG is an incredible city to live in, it's pretty difficult to manage if you don't know anyone. AD is young and still to develop that resilience.
I went white good shopping so I could have it ready for her.

Everdell, Canvas, and Tang Garden. AD loves this genre, and we saw and bought each of them on a recent visit to Malaysia.

Given the age of the machine? I would take the 50 per cent.
Although they broke it, one can't say for sure how much longer it might have lasted.
The fact that they are taking ownership of the issue is decent enough, I suppose.
Since insurance is not covering it, consider taking the settlement and reducing the overhead for a newer one.

It's disgusting how humanity can be in the gutter.
I am sitting at the CCI club with AD (she is here for work), and people are glancing at me till it hits me.
They .....

A facetime audio call for an hour should be under a 100 mb or so. It's just voice after all. That way you can talk to anyone in the US who has an iphone (who does not in that country anyway?) for free for hours.
It's voip so it bypasses the local telecom completely.

I believe the term I heard my friend refer to was "Femtech".
It's getting a crazy amount of traction in India. I have seen pitches for, like, 20 of them.
I recall that, at last count, over 400 startups were focusing on the sector and its allied industries.

I'm happy to note that a young guy I was mentoring at a nearby school recently cleared his board exams. (10+2)
He was struggling in several subjects and had only one guardian who was on a low income. He could not attend any of the coaching institutes despite my offering to pay.
He has done well to gain admission to a good college on a full scholarship.

He was a terrific actor who added so much to cinema in general. There are so many iconic roles.

I can finally take a sigh of relief.
4 days ago, my mom had a serious stroke, leading to immediate hospitalization and the fear of passing away.
She was slowly treated, and today, they examined her for heart-related issues.
She is in the clear for now and will need a LOT of support over the next few months and disruptive lifestyle changes.
I am just glad she is still in my life. I have not taken a breath for the past 3 days.

Naturally foreign travel is going to fall off a cliff in the US.
Who the hell wants to travel to a nation that could randomly decide based on your skin color and nationality that you are there to "become an illegal migrant" and get locked up in solitary.
The US wants to be an isolationist nation and it should be.

Yep. It's a fairly complex deal (ask Voss as he deals with international statutory requirements)
Long and short, they were bought on after the project grew beyond the scope of Asia and parts of Europe. They automatically assumed they would get the business.
It was the brainchild of the Far East office and had been grown under the auspices of the offices here, in India, the UK and Germany.
Why would they hand it over if you decide to split away? Get your own setup going.

2025-01-21 18:17:32 UTC

As expected, our US arm has broken all ties with its Asian and European wings.
They forgot that the contracts they were working on were not signed under US federal law but by Mauritian and Dutch.
Based on my feedback and from the Far East, the European-based partners were expecting this and divested their share accordingly.
They had no option since they called for an immediate break and thought those projects would be transferred to them.
There is such a thing as intl law.
