>have all been heavily pushed in the states as health food
Absolute insanity. Well, more accurately malicious insanity. Basically anything the medical establishment pushes for nutrition van be safely ignored.
>lean meats aren't bad for you but don't offer much energy
Lean meats have their place but mostly if you're doing bodybuilding/athletics/anything with very strict macro requirements. Easy to get precise protein and fat values using it. Otherwise, why the hell wouldn't you eat fatty meats? They're the best!
>eating lots of fat, fatty meat and organs now
Glad you're a fellow organ meats enjoyer! What recipes do you use and which organs are your favourites? Gizzards, hearts and beef liver are my personal favorites and I'll see if I can fish up my old recipe post for hearts.

Who the hell would recommend raw spinach and almonds as healthy!? There's a reason we cook the former and roast the latter. If you don't and you eat a bunch raw you have fun with oxalates, cyanide and aflatoxins.
Also how were you cooking the fish and chicken? Those two are good for you, unless you're getting some trash factory-farmed shit.

tbh I don't think it was the olive oil as much as it was everything else. Weren't you mostly eating greens and other vegetables high in toxic alkaloids (e.g. solanine)?
