I just signed up for a free email account from @nprofile…ulx7 . I had been concerned that the web-app-on-android experience wouldn't be good. A lot of webapps, when you try to access them on android, just bug you to get the android app.
Not so with Tuta! The android web experience seems to be something they put a lot of work into! It has all the functionality, as far as I can tell, and I actually like it better than the desktop experience!

I used to have an "isolate the fascists" attitude. But I've lately seen some arguments that if you do that, they only become more fascist.
And that's clearly what's happened with one of these people. She was a good person who spent time helping people. Then she developed the opinion "the genocide in Palestine is justified". Then her friends abandoned her. Now she's doing "the SAVE act is good, actually". It seems she's been love-bombed into the MAGA movement.

I accidentally clicked on facebook the other day. I saw a fascist post by an acquaintance there who has apparently become a fascist since last time I talked to them.
Then I accidentally clicked on facebook today and saw a transphobic fascist post by someone who I don't know who they are but I apparently friended them at some point, only now they seem to have made transphobia their entire identity.
My question is: I have a duty to engage these people, right?

Yesterday I used a computer at the public library. Holy shit, is this what computers are like when other people use them???
There were ads everywhere on the internet. All the desktop programs I was using kept trying to get me to log in and use AI, to the point that it was hard to figure out how to use the computer like a person.
I did a web search and it was hard to locate the answer through all the AI and ads.
This is how people live???

But I've been wondering: am I wrong about what's going on? Do I just get distracted by the numbers? If I was able to focus on an individual bee, would it appear more purposeful?
And you seem to be suggesting that you know the purpose. I would very much like to know.

I have this idea that, even among the natural numbers, there must be some numbers that cannot be named. Is that true? Like, an integer with an infinite number of digits and there's no repeating pattern to the digits? You could never name that number in a finite amount of time.
And, if these numbers exist, then it seems like almost all the integers would be unnameable.

Out on the street, someone was out there handing out Jesus pamphlets.
I think it would be fun if atheists handed out pamphlets asking you to learn more about Our Lord and Savior Nobody.
The pamphlet would say that we have to be the saviors of each other.

What if mastodon used ipfs for its media? Like, when it sends out posts with images and video, instead of putting an http link, they could put an ipfs link. Receiving servers could choose whether and when to pin it locally. That way, each piece of media has only one name. Seems like it'd better for preservation and availability of the media, and may require fewer copies to be made. A server could only pin it if it's going to display it or something.

"Phone...?" Oh, you mean my self-distract system!

"Back in my day, materials were either conductors or they weren't, and that was good enough for us! We didn't have any of this fancy 'semiconductor' nonsense!"
Transistor's dad: "Look, maybe while your grandma is here, we can run a current through your gate and just tell her you're a conductor? Just for the weekend?"

So, Vulcans are a part of the Federation, right? Like, they were founding members.
And yet, we sometimes see "Vulcan ships" and they are not the same thing as Starfleet ships. We see Vulcan captains and they aren't in Starfleet uniforms. Do the Vulcans have their own Starfleet-like organization separate from the Federation's? Or are these all merchant ships?

If Biden wins, we will still have to take to the streets to assert our rights and win concessions.
If Trump wins, we could take to the streets, sure, but we would be immediately all shot to death by the United States Army.
Doing political change is hard, but I can't think of much harder, and something we're much less prepared for, than defeating the United States military at war. They are very good at war.

I assure you, you can indeed breathe in a mask.
If you feel like you can't, what you're probably experiencing is that the air you're breathing is warmer than you're used to. It's a non-fatal, non-debilitating condition.
