I knew about that lens, but I didn’t realise it yielded such extreme results. Nice shots!

Ha, I realise now that I might have used an incorrect term. I said mechanical to mean “one with gears inside, and a dial with hands on the face”. Maybe analog would have been more correct? It has a quartz and does use a battery, which needs to be changed like the Casio one.

loved the form as much as I loved the text. I can’t help but think that my mechanical wrist watch really is the quiet thing though, as unlike yours it won’t beep. 😛

Out of curiosity, how long would you say you spent framing the shot with your camera? And then did you have much reframing/perspective correction to do in post? When I attempt such shots, I feel like it always takes me forever before I press the trigger, and they still always end up wonkier than I'd like.

I just spent 5 actual minutes staring at that pic and pondering how good it made me feel, and whether it made sense as it’s not a typical “feel good” pic (i.e. not puppies, flowers, sunset, or other #NatureyCrap). Thank you for taking it, and sharing it with us. 💜

I went on that page, started reading, found the “New to Design Tokens? Read our complete guide on what design tokens are.” statement and felt like this was meant for me. So I clicked on “Learn More” and… I’m back on the same page‽ This is confusing. Should this link go away and be replaced with something like “Keep reading to learn more”?

are you going back to Nikon because it’s familiar? Or is there something in common between Fuji and Nikon? I’ve been a Canon owner for the past 10 years/3 cameras, but I hear good things especially with low light about Sony.
Your choice is valid and I’m not trying to convince you otherwise. You also do not owe me an explanation. I’m mostly curious about what made you choose this brand.
Hope you have fun with the new tool! 🙂

Strings for #GNOME 48 are now frozen. Got my cup of tea and working on the French #translation. Oui oui. Who else is spending their Sunday morning doing the same? What language are you working on?

#Fractal 10 had a couple regressions. We didn’t want our users to wait until Fractal 11 to get the fixes in their favorite #GNOME #Matrix client, so here is Fractal 10.1:

~25 years ago, when I was still using Windows 98 SE and connecting to the Internet with a machine that would wake my mom up at night in the process, I used a tiny utility that would check whether my favorite websites had any changes. I think it was called whatsnew, or something similar. Before I go ahead and reinvent that wheel, is there any (linux) tool that already does that?
(I obviously know about RSS. I don’t make that website and it doesn’t have a feed.)

My favourite ones are the prequels Asimov wrote later, Prelude to Foundation and Forward the Foundation. He was a much better writer by then (30 to 40 years of experience at a craft tend to do that).

#UX #survey (you don’t need to be into #photography to answer)
Some #Canon cameras have a builtin interval timer. You need to set an “interval” value (time in hh:mm:ss form) and a “No. of shots” value.
I want to take 90 two second exposures of the night sky, in as little time as possible. What values should I put for the two settings?
Please don’t answer if you *know* the answer. I’m trying to gather results on #intuition. Boosts welcome for better sample size.
