No matter which age verification model you choose, the Epstein class is going to be building and running it.
And you want to give them data about the age of your kids?

As a software developer who took an elective in neural networks - when people call LLMs stochastic parrots, that's not criticism of their results.
It's literally a description of how they work.
The so-called training data is used to build a huge database of words and the probability of them fitting together.
Stochastic because the whole thing is statistics.
Parrot because the answer is just repeating the most probable word combinations from its training dataset.
Calling an LLM a stochastic parrot is lile calling a car a motorised vehicle with wheels. It doesn't say anything about cars being good or bad. It does, however, take away the magic. So if you feel a need to defend AI when you hear the term stochastic parrot, consider that you may have elevated them to a god-like status, and that's why you go on the defense when the magic is dispelled.

You know who else can't cut their military budget? Every dictator on the planet. Because if they did, the military would replace them in an instant.
"Funny" how much the US has in common with dictatorships.

B# and E#? Those keys are missing on my keyboard.
On the other hand, German speaking countries and areas that got their music theory from Germany tend to use H for the B key, so you can add musical note for H.

Still not our job to protect their image.

That is exactly what it is. Before the AI craze, TTS was labelled TTS, they only started labelling themselves AI TTS to cash in on the AI craze.
If they have a problem with being associated with LLM and/or CSAM generators, that's their own fault.
Reap what you sow. Don't ask the rest of us to make special accommodations to separate the bad guys from the fools associating themselves with the bad guys.

If the machine learning folks want their products associated with A/LLM/CSAM generators, it's not our job to protect their brands.
It's up to them to not advertise themselves as AI, if they don't want that association.

There are telltale differences between naked children and naked adults, that would make it very obvious if it was using adult training data to draw naked kids.
It's not.
These LLMs are owned and run by the people who are too rich to be prosecuted, who can't see anything wrong with installing a president they know through a certain Epstein. You can stick your pro-LLM, pro-pedo propaganda where the sun doesn't shine.

Why does it say 380 ohm above a 220 megaohm resistor?

ISPs have their own DNS servers, but advertise those via DHCP. And I don't want dhcpd to overwrite resolv.conf, potentially destroying the local configuration. Yes, there is probably a template somewhere for what to overwrite it with, but that requires reading manuals every time I want to modify resolv.conf, and remembering that I need to do so.
Then there are a few fixed IP, open to everyone, no questions asked DNS servers like 8.8.8.8 run by fascist-supporting Google and 1.1.1.1 run by fascist-supporting Cloudflare.
I don't like using those, even for a backup DNS resolver. Are there any other, prefarably NOT ran by fascists, and not in Trumpistan?

Wired trackball and/or Wacom digitizer.
The trackball doesn't move, so making it wireless would only be to waste batteries. And the digitizer can be seen either way, the unit is cabled, and the pen is wireless - but no batteries, it works similar to rfid.

Even simpler: Look at the DNT http header.
Only fall back to cookie notices when the browser doesn't send it.
It was interesting how quickly Mozilla deprecated the DNT header after an EU court ruled that yes, it is a valid answer.

If you are running in a virtual machine, try a smaller "hard drive".
I don't know about older Mac software, but on PC the limits used to be 2 GB, 504 MB and even further back, 32 MB (the 504 MB one was a BIOS thing, it shouldn't hit installers).
What happens is that the memory used to hold the free space is too small, and as a result the value overflows and becomes negative. And negative free space is never enough.

My justification is that it is just as much PII as a my address, the only difference is that it was collected wirelessly, which makes your argument boil down to "the GDPR does not apply to data collected wirelessly".
But the real problem is that even if the GDPR did not exist, you should not be arguing for collecting personally identifiable data without consent. That's in the realm of big tech companies with "be evil" ss their motto.
Please don't be like them.

SSIDs of private access points are personally identifiable information, much more so than IP adressed (which in most cases would require a warrant to find out who used at a specific time).
Can you point to anything (law, legal verdicts,...) that say that using personally identifiable information without consent or valid cause is legal under the GDPR?
Why would it be strange to focus on the one who was supposedly on the good side of the privacy question arguing for the bad side, rather than those who admit to being evil,

That's the "you consent" argument that every website used when the EU cookie law was introduced, until people started getting fined for it.
You just keep digging yourself in further.

That's not opt in from the people whose PII data you are using.
Your argument is like Google claiming to have opt in from the advertisers to track people.
At least Google was honest enough to strike out "don't" in "don't be evil".

The GDPR is quite clear that only opt in is legal. Your repeated "everyone else is doing it" doesn't hold.
Everyone else is doing it because they can afford to laugh at a 2 billion EUR fine, just to show that they are evil.

I subscribe to neither the "look what she was wearing", nor the "everyone else is doing it too" excuses for why something isn't harmful.
I guess I'll have to strike GrapheneOS off my list of privacy respecting Android versions.
And just to be clear, GrapheneOS (and Apple and Google) does not have my consent to store or process any wireless id (including but not limited to ssid, mac, ip) belonging to me. See the GDPR for further information on what that means.

That's confusing. I have an Android 14 phone with CoMaps installed from F-droid, and no "Google service" anti-feature, so if I understood correctly, neither method should work. Yet I can enable the feature without any errors.

If they are talking about cell towers, fine, but if that includes other peoples wifi and bluetooth devices, that's still a privacy problem.
Collecting random strangers' wifi ids was called "war-driving" before Apple and Google started doing it.

I'm curious what the GrapheneOS location service offers that GPS doesn't.
Google location service tracks you, but GrapheneOS is supposed not to, so I guess it would offer something else?
Also, does it not use the same API, and thus the same setting?
