only that they attributed the edits to her rather than strictly attributing the edits to an IP/email which appears to be associated with her. It’s a very, very short limb, but I can’t see what else they could really have an issue with except just not liking the conclusions.

I wonder if this claim is related to The article? Re-read it and I mean technically they stated conclusions beyond strictly facts, but if they went out on any limbs in what they wrote, they seemed like pretty short limbs.

I like going places over and over. Photography is lovely (really, nothing against photography), but once I've been somewhere enough that my attempts to capture the feeling in a picture subside, I feel more present and enjoy the simple feeling of being in the place more.

I appreciated the comment I'd seen, along the lines of: surely this is just a simplified diagram to illustrate that some counterexample exists and is not the actual counterexample, right?

A more modest Trains and Trails run this week through Briones Regional Park. 14 miles and just over 3 hours from door to door. Already can't wait to go back. ☀️🏃‍♂️🐄 https://rreusser.github.io/trains-and-trails/briones-regional-park/ #running #trailrunning

I've put a lot of work into the template for my running blog site. Not looking for congratulations, just genuinely curious: if I took the time to clean up the rough edges and turn it into a proper authoring tool, is that a thing literally anyone would use/want? (Fully realizing I'm almost certainly not connected on here with the person who would use it, if they did exist. Maybe this means I should Just Do It and not get hung up on analysis.) https://rreusser.github.io/trains-and-trails/ #running #trailrunning #outdoors

Antioch to Mount Diablo, my first Trains and Trails addition in over a year. 27.5 miles, 5 hours 20 minutes, 5400 feet up/5100 feet down. Rough day overall, but always nice to get out there. 👏https://rreusser.github.io/trains-and-trails/antioch-to-mount-diablo/ #running #trailrunning #marathon

it reminds me of blue Christmas lights. I don’t think there’s actually any relation, but for some reason they create a similar and strikingly uncomfortable visual experience for me.

Two colors of the same luminosity to create a disturbing experience. Pure evil. I love it.

A hydraulic erosion simulation, but it's a bit finicky and unstable and I'm not super happy with it. Try it live here: https://observablehq.com/@rreusser/hydraulic-erosion-simulation cc @npub10vt…8ga5

After a warm day yesterday, I checked this morning and the Kepler Track was open, so I went for it and ran the loop today today. It’s about a forty mile loop through Fiordlands National Park in NZ.
Wow, that was among the hardest days I’ve had in the mountains. The first leg is nice with some uphill at the end, then the second leg covers the next ten miles as it winds through alpine slopes and along narrow ridges—except there was about a foot of slush and water and freezing rain with winds strong enough to blow me over sideways a couple times. Someone else with a backpack that, frankly, looked better suited for holding a biology textbook, lost their sleeping bag when it blew away in the wind. Beautiful scenery up there, but no photos since my hands were too wet and cold to operate the touch screen, apart from just not wanting to stop long enough to mess with it. Then about twenty miles through the forest back to the trailhead and five more miles back through town. About 7:35 wall clock time if you exclude to/from the trailhead. Given the conditions, I’m alright with that. Not gonna beat the kids and get a FKT, but 🤷‍♂️

Yay, ran the first section of the Kepler Track out and back and got in a (mostly) trail marathon since the middle section was closed for avalanche conditions. Unfortunate, but I’m just thrilled to set foot in such an inspiring place, and also not to get near-hypothermic in pouring rain like on the Routeburn Track yesterday. https://www.gaiagps.com/public/nJIDmwwrXc49KrCEhS5huufT #running #trailrunning #marathon

Five of us enjoyed the scenery without incident, so I’ll assume “5+” is used in the exclusive sense.

Welp, really tried to train for Pikes Peak Marathon this year, then got injured, then it snowed and became a half marathon, then it just didn’t go well as a race. So time to get back to the basics. #running #trailrunning

Was going to take a rest day, but you don’t find yourself in a place like this too often, so I got in a sunset run up Mount Massive. Felt a little uneasy packing light late in the day (windbreaker, headlamp, energy gels, Gatorade, phone), but it was perfect. Except the goat. The goat was not friendly. #running #trailrunning #colorado

Birthday run (sort of) up Mount Elbert today. Second day up from sea level, but even accounting for that, not as easy as it used to be.
