Interviewer: How do you feel about changing a toddler's diaper?
Me: Well, I'd be fine with it and I'd work on potty training them.
Interviewer: What if I told you the toddler was almost 80 and threw temper tantrums?
Me: Oh, hell no, you never said the position was in Washington D.C.

Last night I was half asleep walking to the bathroom. I woke up when I ran into the little plant table I have in front of the window. I crashed, the plants crashed and my husband came running. He thought I fell. I didn't fall but I do have a big not and a bruise on my shin. OUCH!

Yesterday afternoon I was walking behind the house keeping a look out and this is what I found. I was hoping it was a bull snake, not so lucky; it was a rattlesnake. I slowly walked past it and walked up the deck and into the house. I told my husband and as he was getting his boots on, I came back on the deck and took a picture. I think he was full and didn't care who was a round. I hope I don't see any more this year.

I came out of the barn yesterday and saw a lot of smoke about 40 miles away from us. Of course it scared me, fire is a big fear anywhere. I told Rio to keep an eye on it and if it looked like the wind shifted and was bringing it towards us to run like hell. Several times he came out of the barn or left the spots where he was standing to look towards the smoke. He's one of the few males in my life that's ever listened to me.

3rd year #Introduction.
My name is Marie, but I go by Mar. I live in the desert with my husband and my senior rescue horse Rio. I enjoy being on #Mastodon for the various accounts such as #Artist #Photographer #Music and #Humor and #Animals. I post quite a bit about my horse, music, my life and I attempt humor. I boost anything that I enjoy. I love a variety of music but mostly #70s, #80s and #ClassicCountry. At times people get offended from my post about how we handle animals and reptiles that come into our yard, but until you live here you cannot judge, move past that post and enjoy other things that I share. I do not put up with bullying (luckily there very little of it here). I try to be kind but at times I have to let it rip.

Yesterday afternoon when we went out to give Rio his afternoon feed my husband saw some trim coming off the garage. He told me to stay with Rio until he got back. After a little bit I made it to the corner of the barn to look for him, but he was behind the garage up on a 6ft ladder. I thought I sure hope he hasn't been blown off that ladder because I didn't know if I could make it to the house to call 911. Thank God he didn't. He said it was a close call with the wind trying to blow over the ladder.

Late yesterday afternoon the depression and feeling of losing hope washed over me fast and hard. I thought about drowning it out with alcohol, but I know that isn't the answer. I've seen firsthand with two different people close to me over the years what alcoholism is and what it does to you and the people you love. I refuse to go down that road.
Then this morning I realized I didn't really have any time to talk to Rio since he was out grazing most of the day. That explains why I felt so lost and alone I simply missed my therapy session.
