Lutris 0.5.20 is out!
Proton-GE is now used by default via the umu launcher plus new runners and many fixes!

The most worrying part about the 32bit removal proposal from Fedora is how many people think that Linux gaming = Steam and nothing else.

2025-06-30 00:36:13 UTC

Linux distros are going to keep on trying to remove their 32bit stack and it's only a matter of time before 32bit gets removed from every major distro.
We could have a compatibility layer like Wine, but it may be better to have a full blown emulator given how many components need to be replaced:
- i686 -> x86_64 or Arm64
- X11 -> Wayland
- OpenGL -> Vulkan
- Alsa / OSS -> Pipewire
- Old GlibC -> new GlibC
etc...
While this seems a very daunting task, it should be technically possible

The transition to umu / GE-Proton has proven to be much more painful than it was expected, mainly because no one understands the process we have to go through to do the migration. Add on top of that, being busy with Playtron, and we have a big mess.
The bugtracker is now limited to contributors until further notice, most likely until the release of 0.5.20 that enables umu by default. We don't need a 50th bug report about Battle.net failing to install with wine-GE 8.

Teaser: Some big announcements this week!

2024-05-02 18:03:02 UTC

Save yourself some disk space, uninstall League of Legends. Vanguard has now been deployed and you will be stuck at "your computer must restart" message.
Try to get a refund if you ever paid Riot Games any money.

When you try to run Battlefield V on EA App, which now has the EA Anticheat, you get a pretty clear answer to why it won't launch.

For years, League of Legends was the most popular game on the Lutris website. For years, Valorant has been known to not run on Linux due to its abusive anticheat.
Very soon, League of Legends will adopt the Valorant anticheat and will no longer be playable on Linux and there's not much we can do about it...

The Last Of Us is such a nice experience on the Steam Deck OLED! All the patches have made the game run really smooth. With the HDR display, the game looks really nice, even on low settings.

Hope they don't disappoint!! 💡
