I think its possible he was. I think the real reason the judaized world went to war against the nazis was because national socialism was basically a pagan revival in europe , on the face of it hitler was raised catholic however he did appoint 3 different men who were into paganism at the time to high ranking positions: heinrich himmler, alfred rosenberg, and reinhard heydrich. The nazis were different than many other antisemitic parties at the time because their criticism of jews was based on a racial distinction. National Socialism took the pros of the enlightenment and discarded the cons. Its not just a hollywood invention, high ranking nazis were into the occult, but what does this actually mean, this in effect means a new emerging curiosity in paganism, in archaic old prechristian beliefs about how the cosmos works, the spiritual beliefs that one's ancestors held for thousands of years etc. Himmler was into the aesthetics of this and designed both a castle with the sonnenrad on one of the floors of a room ( this symbol has a lot of debate about its meaning but simply it both depicts a wheel but also an eclipse, representing both great cosmic and great earthly change ), alfred rosenberg in charge of education in nazi germany ( this position appointed to him by hitler ) wrote a book myth of the 20th century where he argues that germans should return to their old prechristian beliefs or at the very least have some degree of reverence for them. And lastly the nazis used tons of old pagan symbols for a lot of things that aesthetically speaking still are very powerful to this day where the adl lists basically every single germanic pagan symbol as a hate symbol simply because the nazis used them. And what are many of these symbols, letters in the old futhark nordic language , each letter in their alphabet also had a symbolic meaning such as the life rune for example. So what are the jews condemning as hate symbols exactly, each letter of the old nordic futhark language, a language a lot of white people used to speak. This runic language considered magic given to them by the gods. The jews are literally afraid of runes because they sense their is some kind of magical property to them.
