@nprofile…5uqu yeah... I read an abridged version in middle school, and sought out the full text not long after (high school or a little before)
it's been in my "reread" pile for a little while now...

@nprofile…5uqu my playlist shuffled to this song just as I read this, which I am taking as a sign to share it: https://chillhop.bandcamp.com/track/unregistered-hypercam-2

@nprofile…5uqu I dunno a lot of film making vocab, so I looked this up...
"The name of the cut refers to the shape of audio and video pieces of the second of two scenes cut together when it was done on analog film, forming a shape similar to the letter 'J' on the timeline. The tail of the 'J' represents the audio from the next clip, while the main body represents the video from the previous clip." (from the Wikipedia entry)
... and the reason behind the name delighted me so much.

@nprofile…5uqu I am both currently unaffected by DST (residing in France, where the clocks shift on the 29th) and affected by proxy (with regards to chatting with family and homies in the US, for whom this happened on the 8th.)
it is somehow more surreal than adjusting to the time change itself...
but I guess we'll see in a few weeks! 💜 lol

@nprofile…5uqu "But cries the Captain 'Now do not delay, nor do ye spare a thought for me.
My duty is to save ye all now, if I can.
See ye return as quick as can be.'"
that's the part that got me 😭 (and the chorus at the end... lol)

Just Emo Things: being so moved by song lyrics you you automatically start tearing up 🥀
(what lyrics? literally any lyrics. pick some from an instrumental track, for fuck's sake; I might sob even harder about it tbh)
