This chicken receptionist actually has everything under control. She just has resting confusion-and-panic face.

#ScribesAndMakers 25: Our next featured creator uses a separate Fedi account dedicated to their book. Do you use different accounts for different creative purposes?
This account was originally my "after dark" side account, but I started doing less and less non-lewd gamedev, and gradually I stopped bothering logging back in there for occasional SFW toots that nobody saw anyway, and that's how horny became main. I deleted the other one quite a few months back.

#WordWeavers 25. Do illicit drugs or alcohol play a role in your story?
Not this one. There's some licit drugs and alcohol, but they're not a big story focus. (Most prominent so far is an anaesthetic herb tea that Giant gives to the injured Fairy)

2026-09-24 03:19:24 UTC

Over a span of three years, a decade from now, Superman, Lois Lane, Batman, The Joker, and Wonderwoman are all going to enter the public domain.
My god, people are going to make so much pornogr-- oh, wait. 🤣

2026-09-24 02:37:14 UTC

#WordWeavers 24. If your MC made a grand entrance, what fitting song would accompany them?
Fairy is destined to be an academically-minded adventurer, so I'm thinking the Indiana Jones theme would be fitting. Then at some point (probably right away to avoid copyright) the theme ends in a record scratch, as he does something comically uncool.

#ScribesAndMakers 24—Our next featured creator will donate a portion of proceeds from book sales. Have you ever put proceeds from sales towards a cause you believe in?
No, I've never had sales. Closest I've done is offer tutoring time in return for a donation.

#WordWeavers 23. Have your characters' journeys affected your own life? If so, how?
Yes. I spend hours a day creating them. And I get to talk to all you folks about it!
Specifically their journeys, though? Not really?? I'm sure I think things through in story a bit? 🤷

2026-09-22 00:51:33 UTC

#WordWeavers 22. If you wrote a memoir on your writing journey so far, what would it be called?
Written Down and Set Aside, the Tale of a Thousand Unfinished Projects.
Naturally, it would be unfinished.

2026-09-21 03:25:12 UTC

#ScribesAndMakers 21. What character from one of your own books or someone else's would you want to spend a day with? What would you do?
A whole day? With another person? Doing activities?! Sounds exhausting. 😅
I dunno, I'll take a ride-along with Pratchett's Death.

2026-09-20 05:40:52 UTC

#ScribesAndMakers 20. Repossess?
Makes me imagine a scenario where somebody thinks it's a clever loophole to sell their soul to multiple demons, because none of them could have it, right? Then all the demons show up and keep possessing their body away from each other.

#WordWeavers 19. What are three personality strengths your antagonist has?
I don't have an antagonist character. I'm going to stretch it a bit and say that my antagonist is the person that Fairy has always thought he *should* be.
That Fairy is constant, traditional, and selfless.

#ScribesAndMakers 18. Change one word in the title of a famous book, a movie, a song, and a play to create four new titles.
The catgirl in the hat
The rabbi's catgirl
Catgirl's in the cradle
Catgirl on a hot tin roof

#WritersCoffeeClub 18. Share a word you've used only to learn later you were pronouncing or using it wrong.
I made the obvious pronunciation mistake with "banal" 😅 (Thankfully not for too long before a friend corrected me.)
I also spent a long time messing up chitin and chimera, and now I feel like I should put a hard C on Cerberus and Caesar (which would be correct in Greek and Latin, but the soft C is entrenched in English)

Dang it. I guessed taverns, on account of being the least spooky.

2026-09-17 10:29:41 UTC

#WordWeavers 17. By the end of your story, how many injuries has your MC had?
Fairy miraculously hits the lake without suffering any broken bones (he manages to use the wings as a bit of a glider, even though they've lost their magic) but still ends up quite weak and feverish from nearly drowning. Apart from that, I don't think there will be any injuries - it's a gentle story.

2026-09-16 22:51:22 UTC

#WordWeavers 17. What are three personality strengths your MC has?
Fairy is sensitive, curious, and more courageous than he realises.

#ScribesAndMakers 17 cont 2/4
NOBODY was fooled by the cockring. The Ring of Vigara (a play on vigor and viagra) was the central item in Bimbo Dungeon. It would heal the MC when they orgasmed (either intentionally, because they wanted healing, or accidentally because they were just boning down) but they would lose a point of either Macho or Clever, pushing them down the bimbo route. (An attempt to activate the ring by masturbation caused the loss without the healing.)

#ScribesAndMakers 17 Link to or summarize yesterday's poll and reveal the answer. 1/4
The majority of votes understandably went to the SFW items, but the correct answer was in equal first place, so I guess that means you win!
I haven't ever written about a bust-swelling bra of holding (but I do really like the idea, so stay tuned, I guess?)

2026-09-15 21:25:24 UTC

#WordWeavers 16. If your MC was elected mayor of your own town, would you stay or move? Why?
I'd stay. I think end-of-story Fairy would do a good job, and beginning-of-story Fairy would be too much of a pushover, but he'd be fine. Certainly not worth moving, over.

2026-09-15 21:19:52 UTC

#ScribesAndMakers 16. Create a poll listing 2-3 objects that have featured in your work and one that hasn't. Ask people to pick the one that hasn't.
One of these useful magical artifacts HASN'T appeared in my work (yet!)
Which one is it?

2026-09-15 21:06:17 UTC

Woke up early and I can't get back to sleep, so I'm going to confuse some Americans on the hashtag games with my answers from the future!
(The future is a lot like your time, but we have kangaroos.)

2026-09-14 21:44:43 UTC

#WordWeavers 15. Your characters get one completely ordinary day with no villains, quests, murders, wars, prophecies, romantic disasters, or impending apocalypses. How do they spend it?
My current story's pretty low drama after the opening scene - it has days like this. Giant goes out fishing in the morning, and on a good day sells his fish in the village. Fairy rests and recovers. In the afternoon they do household chores together and/or distract each other from them.

2026-09-14 21:35:22 UTC

#ScribesAndMakers 15. What's a situation where you feel a ';' definitely works better than a '.' ?
I struggle with using semicolons outside of academic writing. Even when it's totally appropriate to the situation, I feel like the reader's going to see it and think it looks weird or that I'm a pretentious wanker, and I usually end up getting rid of it. 😅

2026-09-14 01:04:38 UTC

#ScribesAndMakers 14. What's your favourite type of story setting?
(I don't play favourites, but) I really like low fantasy and modern fantasy for the same reason - settings where the supernatural elements really feel magical, rather than magic being commonplace.
(Most horror also does this, and I would like it a lot more if I wasn't a little fraidy-cat!)

2026-09-14 00:57:34 UTC

#WordWeavers 14. Your MC is offered exactly what they've always wanted-but accepting it will cost them something they love. What do they choose?
I think that's a question which would always come down to the specifics. In some ways, you could argue that my current story is about that - Fairy gives up his old life (which was far from ideal but had aspects he loved) for the love that he always wanted.

2026-09-11 06:00:33 UTC

#WordWeavers 11: What does your MC believe about themselves at the beginning of the story that turns out to be completely wrong?
That his attraction to men was just a phase/mistake.

2026-09-11 05:59:02 UTC

#ScribesAndMakers 11. Our next featured creator is a group of three collaborators. Have you ever been part of a collaborative group for your creative work?
Not since I started making smutty comics. Back when I was working on games, yes, all the time.

#ScribesAndMakers 11. Vaguely related: I was sad to learn that my favourite acronym, TLA (Three Letter Acronym) is not, in fact, an acronym, and nor are many of the things it refers to.
If you say it like a word, it's an acronym, if you say the letters, it's an initialism.

2026-09-10 01:28:20 UTC

#ScribesAndMakers – 10th Sept. Our next featured creator is an acronym. Do you use acronyms in your work?
Sometimes. More often in SciFi than fantasy. Moral Void had a bounty hunters' group called FRAG, the Fugitive Recovery Agents Guild.

#ScribesAndMakers 9: Share something you've been working on this month.
https://files.kinkycats.org/media_attachments/files/117/242/248/069/082/904/original/3a2b277e711bca93.png

2026-09-09 14:18:15 UTC

#WordWeavers 9: What secret would cause the most damage if it were revealed in your story right now?
I've got nothing, at this point or any later point - it's not that kind of story. Rather, a bit of clarity would be a helpful thing, since Fairy and Giant don't speak the same language.

2026-09-07 15:41:25 UTC

#WordWeavers 7: Describe a moment when one of your characters realizes they've made a terrible mistake.
I'm almost ready to illustrate the part where Fairy, while testing the Grand Tinker's magic wingpack, flies over the edge of the floating Isle, only to discover that magic only works on the Isle, and plummets down to the Land Below

2026-09-07 15:34:48 UTC

#ScribesAndMakers 7: What 'character' (letter, number, etc) would make a great main character?
I would, and frequently have. (Or should that be "has"?)

2026-09-06 12:33:29 UTC

#ScribesAndMakers Since we're talking audiobooks, I only discovered a couple of weeks back that if you're in Australia (maybe other places too?) there's an app called borrowbox that lets you borrow audiobooks from your local library. (You log in with your library member credentials)

2026-09-06 07:31:58 UTC

#WordWeavers 6: What is your MC hilariously bad at?
Introspection? Fairy has never been able to perform sexually with his beautiful wife. The wife that his parents quickly arranged a marriage with after he was scandalously caught kissing another young man. He somehow hasn't figured out/acknowledged that he's gay, yet. (To be fair, his repressive culture should bear the blame, here.)

2026-09-06 07:22:08 UTC

#ScribesAndMakers 6—Have you ever listened to an audiobook where the reader had a good voice, but not the 'right' voice?
No. I think this could happen if I listened to an audiobook of a book (or in a series) that I was already familiar with - like when somebody makes a movie adaptation and the actor isn't at all how I imagined them - but I haven't ever done that.

2026-09-05 07:49:27 UTC

#ScribesAndMakers 5. From a purely aesthetic standpoint, what is your favourite colour of ice cream?
My whole life, I've struggled with favourites, and wondered why people always ask me about them. Do other people go around ranking everything? What are the criteria for their ranking systems? What's the purpose of determining a favourite movie, colour, food, Simpsons character? Purpose would obviously be important when determining the criteria. I wouldn't even know where to start.

2026-09-04 04:02:16 UTC

#WordWeavers 4. What seemingly insignificant object in your story carries a lot of emotional weight?
I don't have anything like that in my current story. The significance of the one emotionally weighted object is a loudly spoken metaphor. (Fairy's wings, his only connection to his homeland with its prejudices about his sexuality, are cut off by Giant to save him from drowning.)
EDIT: I should point out that the wings are a magical artifact he wears, not part of his body.

2026-09-04 03:48:35 UTC

#ScribesAndMakers 4. If e-books stopped being produced, how much would you miss them?
A little bit. They're convenient. But I'm also fine with physical books. It's the words that matter to me.

2026-08-31 06:01:32 UTC

#WordWeavers 31. What's one thing you hope readers remember long after they finish your story?
To brush their teeth and love one another.
I create art to be enjoyed in the moment. If people remember it fondly, that would be lovely, but it's not something I particularly aim for or hope for.

But in this case, it is.

2026-08-30 20:51:23 UTC

Fancy a biscuit?

#WordWeavers Jul 30 - Do the people close to you find your writing surprising?
