But wheat that has vastly more complex gluten structures, leading to a substantial increase in gluten intolerance as well as a poor response to fermentation is a bit of a shit compromise, don't you think? Wheat that is infertile requiring a repeat purchase of seed every year, trapping the global supply behind what is essentially a subscription paywall is a cunty move, surely?

There's a couple little hints. The first is the odd emphasis. Occasionally, whole passages are bolded in a way that very few people actually write. Then, there's the extended use of EM dashes. The only word processor I know that does this automatically is an older release of MS Word, although I might be wrong on that. Nevertheless, there's a couple of combined sentences, immediately followed up by an informal proposition that is fairly indicative of an LLM. There's also the manner in which a finale is appended by clarifications that I've only ever seen an LLM produce, like this sentence:
> If somebody comes to me in 20 years and says “Are these your original ideas and words?” about even a single sentence of my writing, I need to be able to answer yes—no reservations, no loopholes, no room for error.
That last part is quite telling. It follows the stereotypical "this, not mildly related that", but with the addition of an authoritative formality ("no x, no y, no z" rather than "no x, no y, *and* no z") that pretty much cements it.
The entire article is written in that formal-inside-informal style too.
I could be wrong, of course. But I lose trust in anything the moment I see any telltales.

ironically, that article looks to be written by an LLM, at least in part.

This delightful middle-aged bean has been with me for just over a year now. He has gone from a timid, shaky little kit, jumping nigh out of his skin when I toot or the washing machine clacks, and who hid under the bed at the horror of post being delivered, to the rightful lord of this small manor. He relishes the thought of attacking feet and likes to snuggle in to his captive servant.
Seven years of abuse, and just about everyone had given up on him. Adopt, don't shop.
