Hey Hey! Is "Hear My Roar" a band or a song? We did not pre-populate the EPOCH app with everything in the index. 90% of the songs in the app today are musicians we have had direct contact with, over the last 2.5 years. We also added a few fan favorites where we also know the artist is comfortable with V4V. In EPOCH app we have a gate vs. a wall, that allows each artist to choose syndication to open platforms. If you are an artist already in the open system you can create an epoch account and quickly import your music from RSS/Podcast Index. For artists that do not want to syndicate out we will host their music and it is protected in app. Everything is built around choice.

This is the HD video master file that I would distribute to distrokid or any distributed for my music or videos - for less than $20 a year. Same file I distributed that will come out on traditional distribution on 1/5

Thanks @nprofile…hfgm - but @nprofile…qtjr is a paid service for $71 a year and that needs to be resolved. 🤦‍♀️ #grownostr #nostrdev #userfeedback

The global independent music community stands at a crossroads. With over 7 million truly independent artists worldwide - those without labels and with full ownership of their art - Bitcoin adoption faces a historic opportunity: to build a culture that values creators as the 🧡 heartbeat 🧡 of the movement, not as accessories, not as afterthoughts, and certainly not as free labor for “exposure.”
Roger’s manifesto reminds us: Bitcoin is more than money. It is expression, truth, and love. If we want artists to join us we must offer them more than applause.
At a minimum, conferences and meetups should cover artists’ costs. But we must also honor their work with real value, not just empty “opportunities” to headline the after-party.
Imagine the snowball effect if 7 Million artists could now make a living through 1000 true fans rather than chasing millions of likes 👍🏻 and love ❤️
When we compensate artists fairly, we don’t just fill a stage, we build a movement that the entire world wants to join.
Exposure is not enough. Conferences and meet ups should be negotiating directly with artists. New platforms should not be considered defacto middlemen making choices for or on behalf of artists.
If we want 7 million artists to bring their energy, talent, and vision into the Bitcoin ecosystem, let’s greet them with enthusiasm. Let’s show them that Bitcoin is the great equalizer, where artists are valued, not exploited.
This is how we create a cultural renaissance. This is how we prove that Bitcoin is for everyone. The future is waiting. Will we rise to meet it?

@nprofile…cqyf I’m happy to see you here explaining the RSS side of things to folks. I’ve tried to explain this for years. Both rss and Nostr have their own uses and opinions. They are both valid and understandable but no one has tried to bridge both. If this conversation can lead to a solution that allows all apps to accept both payment systems and help artists do that easily that would be a huge step in the right direction. As you said last night, accurately, these events are inevitably driven by gatekeepers that at this time are people we know and trust. NME, PPM, Tunestr. But that is not how it should be. The magic behind VTS and the split kit is the instant payments to all involved. During our past events we’ve had to have an RSS feed and a Nostr feed and Nostr has always required post event settlement. We need someone on the development side that is willing to look at both and make publishing to both as easy as Distrokid or CDbay. Upload once and it’s monetizable everywhere Nostr or RSS apps. I’ve never been the one to solve it but I understand the issue better than most. We have RSS developers and Nostr develops and I have not found one who will address both sides of the equation.
