Like with the rest of the West, the UK govt is about saying one thing to their constituency on Israel & doing the opposite behind the scenes.
They are ALL assisting & collaborating in Israel's #genocide of Palestinians while their public-facing position is total, futile, ineffective (by design) political Performance.

I know these things are to store & manage "Data", but WHAT "data"? Simply all the knowledge & information available on the Internet? And with each big corp building its own #datacenter, surely a lot of that "data" is several times redundant? (As well as the redundancy built INTO each datacenter.)
And if the object is *all* global knowledge & info, that *all* belongs to the rest of us.
Which is why global collected data should be managed (& profits shared) once, centrally.

It's time all political "donations" were just accurately referred to as #Bribes.
(Although I fear the downside may be that #Bribery & #Corruption of politicians just become normalised.)

EU leaders are hugging USrael's boots. They do not represent Europeans at ALL.
Hard to imagine what it is that turned them into shovelling for genocide, war-crimes & breaches of International law but the fact that Europeans can't actually vote for them is a crucial spanner in the works.
As for Starmer, at least we see his polls suffering.
And worst of all, #Merz! Was meint ihr dazu, liebe Deutsche?

What is very revealing is that Labour now see themselves as closer to Reform than to the #Greens.
The upside is that this should see SWATHS of disaffected once-traditional – but also young – Labour supporters going #Green.

They're loving all of this. Makes them feel powerful & important.
I don't see "Protests" making any difference whatsoever. The madder everyone gets the greater their orgasm.
When entire ICE patrols start getting mowed down, they will all suddenly become less cocky. I'm afraid that is what it will take.

The downhill slide of any eventual AI profitability has been on the cards for a while now. The reaction of the big "AI" corps has been to be "even bigger" by putting their foot on the gas, investing *even more* & thus accelerating downhill even faster!
If it happens this term, I believe US money will bail out the most govt-friendly (expect excessive grovelling) which will swallow the others but IMO the clever money is in China.

Europe has put more €/£ & more weaponry into Ukraine than the US. But I've always thought that Putin considers Europe to be a pushover: "We don't do wars". Fine I'll just destroy everything, kill a million people & take what I like while you wag your finger at me.

It will never happen if smaller parties demonstrate how they're OK with having no candidates every election. 🤷
Accepting the status quo is not how it gets changed for the better.

Greens should never, ever "stand aside". That is to encourage FPTP.
The "next best option" to Greens could benefit from Green voters' 2nd choice when that is an option on the ballot.

Exactly.
ALL mandatory #insurance – like essential #Healthcare – should be covered by the State (i.e. all of us).
There is, as always, space for private enterprise in offering service *beyond* mandatory or essential, e.g. aesthetic plastic surgery or extra fire cover for the Masters' artworks in my attic. So for those that can afford that, let the private insurers compete away. 🤷

#Israel has effectively delegitimized its existence.
But I have lost all faith in the utility of the #UnitedNations & fully expect no action whatsoever in response to this, when the only immediate response should be to rescind Resolution 273 & thus eject Israel from the #UN. (& then rescind Resolution 181 to #FreePalestine.)
They don't even have a Mastodon account as far as I can see? 🤔

I broadly agree but I believe piecemeal protests will take forever. A few fundamental changes to repair #democracy would solve a lot of these problems but they will need all potential protesters to sign up to them together.
To begin with, political campaigns should be funded by the Treasury, not billionaires & lobbyists like #AIPAC, #BigOil, the Military Industrial Complex, BigFinance & the like.
Also, ranked-choice voting.

Are others I've downloaded from YouTube (& other sites) also delivered by RSS?
I don't subscribe to a feed reader, download podcast apps or give any of them my email address.

Depends too on how you define "Growth". Right now it's just GDP, which simply ignores the MUCH broader holistic economy with no allocated monetary exchange value.
[Where is the Amazon or global plankton or Arctic ice or parental childcare/grandparentcare in GDP?]
What economists mean by "#Growth" is increase in wealth for those who already have it.

My take is that *corporations* shouldn't be taxed at all! "Corporations" as such do not experience wealth; that (profit) is the privilege of the *owners* - shareholders etc. It is THEY who should be taxed, surely more for simple capital gains than actual productive work!
That would also encourage reinvestment.
As it is, #CorpTax punishes the entire corp (by limiting reinvestment) for the productivity of the employees.

Not sure about the "lottery". I'd rather defined professional societies, associations & unions across society get to nominate & vote for what they consider to be the best qualified people to serve in the Lords. But yes, for a limited term, well paid and full time (no "2nd jobs").
