One of my online English lesson clients has been having a bit of trouble making payments through the usual KYC channel, and I offered 10% off if he was willing to try using the Bitcoin network for his next lesson. He expressed interest, and willingness to research his options.
If this works out, it'll be my first client who pays in BTC. He doesn't yet use bitcoin, so it's also a bit of an orange pill opportunity. I hope he follows through!

It's annoying when a web link baits me into wanting to read a web article, then props up a paywall or asks me to disable my ad blocker.
Today was the first time I thought to copy the link and tell ChatGPT to summarize the article for me.
SPOILER ALERT: It worked, at least for the ad blocker scenario. I'll try it again next time I encounter a paywall.

Wow, I managed to spin up a Start9 from an old, discarded piece of hardware. Junky Microsoft is now hunky Linux. It's downloading the blockchain right now! Learning is fun. LFG 🚀

You believe in panspermia? It does seem possible indeed, thanks to the incredible hardiness of the mighty spore. Maybe someday we'll be able to verify it.

Everyone loves the Animal Kingdom and the Plant Kingdom while somehow forgetting about the existence of the Fungi Kingdom on which the other two are highly dependent. Also mushrooms are tasty, nutritious, ecological, pretty easy to grow cheaply with enough practice, and not at risk by any stretch of the imagination of going extinct. Some would even say they're quite intelligent life forms.

My new job is a whirlwind and getting windier. Online English tutor wasn't among the first jobs destined to be gobbled up by AI, but it's foreseeable on the horizon. That was one reason it made sense for me to seek other employment. (I'm still employed for supplemental income, and also still self-employed p2p, and I accept bitcoin!).
But this new job is a fun challenge, every day is a different adventure, and my problem solving skills are being sharpened and put to the test, and my physical fitness level is way up, averaging more than 10,000 steps a day just from doing the job, and I'm learning skills that no AI robot will be able to master for a long time (I am probably safe until I reach retirement age), and the cognitive load is contributing to my enduring mental health. Win-win!
I still want to start a podcast about the intersection of mental health and active lifestyle (it's a jam-packed crossroad actually, and I'm excited to share my point of view with the world!)

Children of my generation were told that our brains would stop changing at some point, but that was not necessarily entirely correct.

It makes me happy to read your note, because I've been thinking about starting, not a true pod, but just a Rumble/YouTube channel for shorts about mental health, which is one thing other than bitcoin that I'm passionate about.
I don't hear anyone in the space talking about the importance of brain fitness for memory retention, which is connected to securing your keys in the sense of seed phrases in particular, and connected to learning bitcoin, in general.
I also think mental health is an important topic aside from bitcoin, and I'm eager to try to connect the topics in an entertaining, educational, and motivating way.
Thanks for giving me ammunition to reinforce my motivation on this front!

"Once a man, and twice a child."
What does it mean?
The AI thought it was something purely negative, until it was shown an alternative interpretation, and now it thinks differently. What do you think?

My time in Japan lasted ten years, and for many reasons I consider it my second home. The degree to which living in Japan, fully immersed in Japanese language and culture, altered my life path and my mind itself, it cannot be overstated. The door for such culturally illuminating possibilities closes slightly with this news.
However, in that time I also observed my fair share of belligerent and oblivious Westerners, or even ones who didn't like Japan simply because it didn't accommodate them in some particular way.
These people need to have more of an open mind in order for Japan as a people to remain open-minded toward immigration.
(I was never a JET, but I befriended many who came and went over the years.)
