The bad news: I attempted to hike to the top of a trail with moderate elevation promising wonderful views at the top, and dang it, I was running out of spoons because of navigating all the rocks and tree roots under a carpet of fallen leaves. More bad news, I was passed by an older woman, Marsha, with a dog, while I had to turn back.
Good news: I was able to pet her adorable dog, Pepper. AND she told us of an easier trail to the top, which we will try another day.

I'm very cliché. I took a photo of a lighthouse.
But worse. I even asked a guy, who was probably a native Mainer, to step out behind it so I didn't have a stranger ruining my tourist photo of a lighthouse.
Some Oklahoma tourists spent a long while chatting with him. He was probably interesting, but I had a lobster roll waiting for me in town with my name on it. I'm a New Yorker. I've places to go, in a hurry.

Among the things I want to accomplish today is to leave my house, and not just a walk on the street, but get in a vehicle and go to another location.
I'll go to the library. I know they're open because I helped negotiate the contract to stay open on this holiday so everyone could get the day after Thanksgiving off. They're too stingy to give them both off.

All alone stood it and the moss hung down from the branches,
Without any companion it grew there uttering joyous leaves of dark green,
And its look, rude, unbending, lusty, made me think of myself,
But I wonder’d how it could utter joyous leaves standing alone there without its friend near, for I knew I could not,

I was a kidney donor. That was 42 years ago. But I'm still having to read prescriptions carefully to see if it's going to eff up my one remaining kidney. Medical professionals need to get their act together. I was prescribed a colon prep for my colonoscopy that's not good for kidneys. I had to call and advocate for a different one. Will see if they comply.

If you need marinara dipping sauce for just a few things you make like, oh I dunno, mozzarella sticks, or maybe chicken parm sandwiches, just buy a jar of pizza sauce. Often I've opened a whole jar of spaghetti sauce and forgotten about it, it goes to waste.
By the way, pizza sauce is good drizzled on some zucchini I took out of the air fryer.

We named Clinton after "Clinton's Ditch" it's the nickname of The Erie Canal and we first saw him last year when it was the 200th anniversary of the canal.
Dougie arrived this spring. He's longer & skinnier than plump, Clinton. Dougie the name was thought up by my Hubs. Dougie slinks around our cat low like a cat after a mouse & has been known to sunbathe there.
I've never seen Clinton and Dougie hanging out together. I've seen Clinton hanging with the Crows, Cheryl and Edgar.

"(Comparison)... it never actually weighs your life. It takes everything you’ve built and adjusts it to zero so that the only number left on the board is the one thing you haven’t done."
So very true, it picks the one thing that makes you feel 'less than', and throws out everything else you've accomplished or the things that make you who you are.

I took a side road to an Amish farm stand. They had lovely strawberries. Just $5 per quart. I've been paying much more for local berries. Also, snagged a nice bunch of fresh lettuce for one dollar. A lady pulled up and stopped in her tracks complaining about the price of the strawberries. Turning around, said she was going elsewhere to pick them herself. (U-pick is $3.25 a pound, and there's a pound and a half of berries in a quart. I guess some people like to squat in the dirt.)
